Open Door Service Center promotes community through annual Gala: “Break Bread, Raise Hope”

Posted

Open Door Service Center proudly announces its upcoming fundraising gala, Break Bread,  Raise Hope: Teaming up to End Hunger, taking place on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at The Foundry 324  in Sedalia.

This year’s theme, Teaming up to End Hunger, reflects Open Door’s belief that every person deserves to have  food security — and that We Are Building a Stronger community together.

This annual event will raise funds for Open Door Service Center’s life-sustaining programs, including its food  pantry, soup kitchen, service center, and the mission as a whole. Guests are invited to attend not only for a  night of team camaraderie and entertainment, but to stand alongside Open Door Service Center’s dedicated  staff, selfless volunteers, generous donors, and steadfast supporters — all of whom work daily to meet  urgent needs and lift lives across the region.

Premier Climate Control is our “Hall of Fame” Top Sponsor of this year’s event. Premier Climate Control was  founded in 2011; the company was built on a simple principle: treat every customer’s home or business as if it  were their own. “From the kitchen, to the thrift store, and of course, the food pantry, The Open Door is there  for people in our community when they need a helping hand “said Eric Stilfield, co-owner of Premier Climate  Control. “Amy and I have been very fortunate with the success of Premier Climate Control, and we feel a responsibility to give back to the community that has shown us so much incredible support. At Premier Climate  Control, our motto is ~Our Community. Our Commitment~ and we believe The Open Door shares that same  commitment.”

The gala promises an evening of sports fun, fellowship, and purpose, featuring a live and silent auction, social hour, catered dinner, guest speakers, and exciting sports-themed games including Silver Spoons, Hoops for  Hope, Whiskey Raffle, Football Toss for a Cause, and Grand Slam Popcorn Pick.

“Premier Climate Control’s commitment helps us help others with food and household needs,” said Amanda  Davis, Executive Director of Open Door. “Their investment means the world to us and shows our community  how important food and nourishment is for all of us.”

Join us as we celebrate our community, honor those making a difference, and raise hope for those who need it  most. All proceeds from the gala will directly support Open Door Service Center’s feeding initiative — delivering thousands of pounds of food, warm meals, and emergency assistance to individuals and families  facing crisis.
