The Sedalia Lions Club performed another highway clean-up Saturday, July 18, on the west entrance of Sedalia. The Lions Club picked up trash on both sides of Highway 50, from Big-O Tires & Coltons, through the stop lights, a full 1 & 1/2 miles. Twenty-three large yellow bags were filled, along with tire pieces, siding, cardboard and other materials. Pictured are Sedalia Lion Club volunteers Carrie Rieman, Jerry Case, Lori Hurt, Tom Ragan, Tim Berube, Mel Garrett, Sterling Green, Matt Boatwright, Scott Matz, Lloyd Heisterberg and John Meehan. Part of the clean-up area is where the new Sedalia Service Clubs Sign was erected this past Spring. Manufactured by Impact Signs, the total cost for this Sedalia Service Clubs sign was shared equally by these 12 non-profit service organizations: Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Masonic Lodge, Optimist Club, VFW, Rotary Club, Sedalia Business Women, Kiwanis Club, American Legion and Elks Lodge.
