This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 28

7:20 p.m.: Carol J. Tieman, 67, of Alma, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. They made contact with the subject and employees and the subject was issued a municipal citation for shoplifting.

March 29

10:19 p.m.: Christopher Albert Vieth, 39, and Christina Marie Forsee, 36, of the 2000 block of West Main Street, were arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard regarding a shoplifting incident. They spoke with the suspects, who were issued citations for shoplifting and released on scene.

11:35 p.m.: Kimberly Sue Busing, 53, of the 1000 block of East Ninth Street, was arrested after officers responded for a possible domestic disturbance. A primary physical aggressor was determined and Busing was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault.

11:43 p.m.: Melissa R. Keele, 35, of the 400 block of Dal Whi Mo Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched regarding a disturbance. They met with the reporting party and found it was an ongoing domestic disturbance. A primary physical aggressor was determined and Keele was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of third-degree domestic assault and second-degree property damage.

12:41 p.m.: Sarita L. Leon, 62, of the 600 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after police responded to the 1400 block of East Seventh Street for a reported crash involving several vehicles. Leon was identified as the driver of the striking vehicle and was intoxicated. Leon was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of felony driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.

March 30

1:46 a.m.: Daniel Allen Pritchard, 47, of the 1100 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after a truck stop near South Summit Avenue and East Ninth Street for failing to maintain a lane. He was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and given a municipal citation for driving while intoxicated.

11:49 a.m.: Bonnie Suzanne Kemp, 36, of the 700 block of East 24th Street, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to theft. Kemp was observed stealing approximately $100 worth of items from the store and was apprehended by asset protection. Officers investigated the incident and the suspect was ultimately released with a municipal summons for stealing.

2:53 p.m.: Victoria C. Ross, 27, of the 600 block of West 20th Street, was arrested after officers responded for a disturbance. There was a physical domestic assault that occurred on several people by the suspect. One of the assaults occurred after the suspect broke into a neighboring residence. Ross was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of first-degree burglary, third-degree domestic assault and child abuse.

3:27 p.m.: Addie M. Wolfe, 21, of the 3000 block of West 11th Street, and Jasmine C. Hernandez, 18, of Marshall, were arrested after officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard regarding a theft. Officers arrested the two subjects involved and collected information for a report.

5:26 p.m.: Ezra Scott Cowan, 25, of the 27000 block of Southwood Lane, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Two subjects had been directed to the asset protection room in the store after being found stealing items. After an investigation, one of the subjects was issued a municipal summons for stealing.

8:29 p.m.: Brandon Michael Moore, 36, of the 1500 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after the Sedalia Police DWI unit, which was conducting traffic enforcement at 13th Street and Ingram Avenue, found him disobeying the stop sign in his truck. Moore was under the influence of drugs and was processed and released to a sober person at the Pettis County Jail for driving while intoxicated-drugs.

10:29 p.m.: Jason Martin Eickhoff, 49, of the 1700 block of South Sneed Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stopped near West Broadway Boulevard and Sunset Drive for an equipment violation. The driver was found to be intoxicated by drugs and was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released for driving while intoxicated-drugs.

March 31

12:38 a.m.: Juan Toljin Us, 20, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without a license. He was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, processed and released.

1:06 a.m.: Vincent Lee Ballenger, 49, of the 1200 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after officers responded for a civil standby between two parties. He became hostile toward the other person while officers were on scene, not allowing the other party to retrieve her belongings and continued yelling and causing a disturbance. Ballenger was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for stealing and peace disturbance.

1:19 a.m.: Juan Jose Segura Rivas, 34, of Kansas City, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a driver under the influence. Rivas was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and later released with a citation for driving while intoxicated.

2:03 a.m.: Nathaniel Tyler Floyd Bryant, 30, of the 1600 block of East Seventh Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near South Warren Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard for failure to maintain a lane. Bryant was intoxicated by drugs and transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released for driving while intoxicated-drugs.

8:33 p.m.: Bennett Tyler Neely, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested after a vehicle stop at West Third Street and Engineer Avenue for a license violation. Items associated with illegal drug activity were observed in plain view and a probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of additional items related to illegal drug activity. Neely was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

March 28

9:08 p.m.: Officers responded to the 600 block of East 10th Street in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The complaint said a vehicle struck his parked vehicle and left the scene without providing information. The investigation is ongoing.

March 29

12:27 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a subject trespassing. The subject was unable to be located, but officers determined there was enough evidence to submit charges to the prosecutor's office.

March 30

11:43 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1000 block of East Fifth Street for a harassment report. Charges were not requested and information for a general report was collected.

12:29 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to West Cooper Street regarding property damage. Information was gathered to create a report. There are no known suspects at this time.

3:27 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 600 block of East 14th Street in reference to property damage. A patient damaged some drywall of the building earlier in the day with an estimated value of $300. The case was referred to the Pettis County prosecutor for charges.

March 31

1:07 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Pettis and Mill streets for a man who had been assaulted. They arrived on scene and gathered information from the victim, who was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment of his injuries.

2:47 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of shoplifting. They gathered information from store management, identified a possible suspect and a report was completed.

7:28 p.m.: A traffic stop was initiated near East Broadway Boulevard and South Massachusetts Avenue for disobeying a stop sign. A check found the driver required an ignition interlock device, which was not connected. Charges are being requested for failure to comply with the required device.

April 1

12:11 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of West Third Street regarding property damage. They spoke with the reporting party and gathered information for a report.

Arrests

March 29

11:35 p.m.: Robert J. McCracken, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

March 30

9:33 p.m.: Haley R. Hyten, 31, of Columbia, was arrested for felony driving with a revoked license. She was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
