This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 31

4:39 a.m.: Jeremy Austin McDaniel, 30, of the 900 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop for no front plate and moving violations in the area of East Sixth Street and South Marvin Avenue. A check revealed McDaniel was driving with a suspended license. He was placed under arrest, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released with a charge of driving with a suspended license. Officers are also requesting a state charge of failure to maintain financial responsibility.

April 1

2:09 p.m.: Aaron W. Argenbright, 40, of the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 Block of South Limit Avenue for a license violation. The driver of the vehicle had a revoked driver's license and was in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The passenger of the vehicle was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. Argenbright was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. 

Incidents

March 23

4:38 p.m.: Officers responded to the area of West 18th Street and South Limit Avenue in reference to a non-injury accident. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the drivers of both vehicles. During the investigation, it was discovered that one of the drivers was “huffing” an air-duster which caused the collision. State charges of driving while intoxicated are being pursued on the driver.

March 31

1:13 p.m.: An officer met with a loss-prevention employee at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to trespassing. He was advised that on March 27 loss prevention recognized someone in the store who was permanently trespassed from the store in the year 2015 for shoplifting. Municipal charges are being requested on the subject, who left the business after being confronted.

2:34 p.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby regarding harassment that had been occurring since December 2020. The suspect is known at this time and a report was completed over the incident. 

2:35 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Plaza Avenue for a report of an assist agency. On arrival, the officer assisted the Children's Division in conducting a preliminary interview with the juvenile victim. The victim spoke about a possible sexual assault that happened at her father's home in Gravois Mills.

3:27 p.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby of regarding the theft of a vehicle that occurred sometime between Sunday, March 28 and Tuesday, March 30 in the 1000 block of South Moniteau Avenue. The property stolen was valued at $600.

March 31

7:55 p.m.: Vicky S. Scott, 76, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash. She was taken to Morgan County jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
