This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 17

11:36 p.m.: Ryan Keith Chapman, 36, of the 700 block of North Grand Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East Second Street and South Ohio Avenue for driving with a suspended license.

Dec. 18

12:26 a.m.: Tramond Darrell Taylor, 33, of the 3500 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Park Avenue for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for an equipment violation.

1 a.m.: Jillian Kline Walker, 27, of the 1400 block of Elm Hills Boulevard, was arrested near West Ninth Street and South Vermont Avenue for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle failing to use a turn signal.

11:39 p.m.: Waylon M. Burns, 36, of the 300 block of East Second Street, was arrested near the intersection of East Boonville Street and North Harding Avenue for driving with a revoked license. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with non-working license plate lights.

Dec. 19

1:34 a.m.: Nicholas B. Dexter, 29, of the 1400 block of East 12th Street, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Ohio Avenue for driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle after dark with no lights. A traffic stop was conducted and after an investigation, the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

1:35 a.m.: Lisa L. Potter, 21, of the 30000 block of Ray Street, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Marshall Avenue for possession of marijuana. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with non-working license plate lights. A search of the driver revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A search of the vehicle revealed more marijuana and paraphernalia. The passenger took ownership of the larger portion of marijuana.

3:55 a.m.: Chase Andrew Hayworth, 22, of the 2400 block of West Second Street Terrace; Darian U. Benton, 22, of the 800 block of South Sneed Avenue; and Rawhawn Nathan Umbles, 33, of the 600 block of East 16th Street, were issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of West Ninth Street and South Quincy Avenue for possession of marijuana.

A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation. A search found all three occupants in possession of marijuana and one passenger, Hayworth, had three Pettis County failure to appear warrants and a municipal failure to appear warrant, all for traffic offenses. Hayworth was arrested for the warrants.

7:04 p.m.: Paul Q. Hackney II, 19, of Columbia, was arrested in the 1500 block of South Moniteau Avenue for leaving the scene of a vehicle accident, possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle without a valid license. Officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run vehicle accident involving a parked vehicle. The incident was captured on a Ring device, which helped officers in the investigation.

7:39 p.m.: Shawna C. Blackmore, 28, of the 1900 block of South Prospect Avenue, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of North Washington Avenue and East Main Street for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to obey/resist arrest. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle that disobeyed a stop sign. During the stop, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search revealed marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia. The driver refused to comply with the officer’s orders to place her hands behind her back. She was transported to SPD and released with summonses.

10:36 p.m.: Darryl Allen Frazier, 54, of the 400 block of North Mill Street, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Center Avenue for driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with no front license plate.

Dec. 20

1:07 a.m.: Rodney Jermaine Crockett Jr., 32, of Kansas City, was arrested near the intersection of West Main Street and Winchester Drive for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle that was weaving. The driver said he did not have a driver’s license and the officer could smell a strong odor of intoxicants on the driver’s breath. During the investigation, it was discovered the driver had a suspended license and it was determined he was intoxicated. He was transported to SPD where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC above .08.

7:18 p.m.: Ronald D. Brockway, 60, of the 300 block of Covered Bridge Road, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Engineer Avenue for driving while intoxicated. During a traffic stop, an officer noticed the odor of intoxicants on the driver’s breath. During the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to SPD where he refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and the driver was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center where a blood draw was conducted.

8:07 p.m.: Ryan Edward Moore, 28, of the 1600 block of West 16th Street, was arrested in the 700 block of West 16th Street for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a synthetic narcotic, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Officers were dispatched for a subject check. He was found in possession of methamphetamine, a controlled pill and marijuana.

Incidents

Dec. 18

10:47 a.m.: A victim reported a known suspect took the victim’s receipt to a Sedalia business and was able to cash it out for $1,700. Charges of theft are being sought.

10:50 a.m.: A victim reported when they returned home in the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, their front door was open and a laptop and TV, valued at $1,700, were missing.

Dec. 19

10:19 p.m.: A victim in the 1800 block of East Fifth Street reported her truck had been damaged by a subject known to her. She noticed her windshield was cracked and it appeared a rock had been thrown at it. The suspect could not be located at the time of the report. A charge of property damage was submitted to the prosecutor.

Dec. 20

12:16 p.m.: A victim reported two stolen debit cards had been used for $1,100 worth of transactions.

12:21 p.m.: A vehicle reported stolen from a driveway in the 500 block of East 15th Street between 9 a.m. and noon.

9:50 p.m.: A victim in the 1300 block of South Moniteau Avenue reported property damage to her vehicle. She told the responding officer that someone hit the hood of her car numerous times, causing small dents. The damage occurred between Dec. 16-20. She estimated the damage around $1,000.

Dec. 18

8:49 p.m.: Tiffany L. Howe, 29, and Kenneth G. Howe, 26, both of Cole Camp, were arrested in Benton County for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful use of a weapon.

9:32 p.m.: Kaysi E. Foster, 28, of Centerview, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated-drugs and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash.
