This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 2

10:47 a.m.: Scott Wayne Mathis, 48, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of East 13th Street for a report of property damage. The victim said a subject in the neighboring house tossed something at his window, breaking it. Contact was made with Mathis, who said he was in need of medical attention and began breaking windows in the area to get someone's attention. Charges of property damage are being sought.

3:21 p.m.: Heather N. Staus, 29, of Smithton, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of West Seventh Street for a domestic disturbance. Earlier in the day, Staus moved out and was trespassed from the residence. She returned intoxicated and broke in while a man and child known to her were taking a nap. Staus picked up the child and hit the man several times. She was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of domestic assault, third-degree burglary and trespassing.

11:20 p.m.: Kyle Wayne Wissman, 35, of the 2300 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near East Howard Street and North Engineer Avenue for not displaying registration. Wiseman was intoxicated and was transported to the police department, then the Pettis County Jail for driving while intoxicated-drugs.

Dec. 3

3:10 a.m.: Dwight Albert Treater II, 61, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers made contact with him walking on Katy Trail State Park grounds near East 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue after the park was closed. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for trespassing.

1:16 p.m.: Ashley Nicolle Bardin, 22, of the 26000 block of Goodwill Chapel Road, was arrested after an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on New York Avenue in front of Parkview Elementary. Bardin had a revoked operator’s status and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

Incidents

Nov. 27

3:32 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of East 13th Street for a report of a vehicle theft. The victim stated her sister came over to her house and stole her truck. Charges for first-degree tampering are being sought.

Dec. 1

7:10 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of East Jackson Street for a report of property damage. The caller said sometime overnight, someone slashed tires on their cars.

5:59 p.m.: A vehicle was struck at the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Moniteau Avenue. The reporting party stated a vehicle pulled onto Broadway from Moniteau, hitting their vehicle in the rear quarter panel and then fleeing. Information was gathered and an investigation was initiated.

Dec. 3

2:43 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a report of property damage near North Engineer Avenue and East Howard Avenue. The driver said his vehicle was parked at the location and when he returned, it had an estimated $1,000 in damage.

10:38 a.m.: An officer responded to the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue for a theft report. The victim said she believed someone had taken her wallet while she was in a business in the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue. A possible suspect was identified, but it is unclear whether the wallet was stolen or lost.

Dec. 4

3:06 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to an alarm. Broken glass was found by the front door. The building was cleared and management was contacted. Several items had been stolen, no arrests were made.

12:06 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard regarding an individual camped out on the walkway of the strip mall. The officer observed the suspect walking out of the business, and dispatch confirmed that the suspect was trespassed from that location. Charges of trespassing against the suspect have been requested.

Dec. 1

7:30 p.m.: Kenneth W. Meredith, 62, of Gilliam, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall and released.

9:16 p.m.: Steven A. Curtner, 46, of California, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

11:23 p.m.: Donovan L. Murphy, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated with a person less than 10 years old in the vehicle and speeding. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

Dec. 2

12:34 a.m.: William H. Moon, 49, of Windsor, was arrested in Henry County for felony possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), felony driving with a revoked license, felony fleeing, driving while intoxicated-drugs, failure to yield, speeding, and failure to stop at a stop sign. Moon was transported to the Henry County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

1:29 a.m.: Chylin B. Anderson, 18, of Marshall, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

6:01 p.m.: Shelly A. Edwards, 51, of Clarksburg, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while intoxicated-alcohol and failure to drive on the right-half of the roadway resulting in a motor vehicle crash. She was transported to the Moniteau County Jail.

Dec. 3

1:05 a.m.: April J. Ream, 43, of Hughesville, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and driving the wrong direction on the highway. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
