This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
12:23 p.m.: Sara Ann Kaufman, 46, of the 400 block of East Seventh Street, was arrested after officers responded to the Sedalia Public Library, 311 W. Third St., in reference to a theft. On Jan. 27, Kaufman took something worth approximately $20 from the business. The suspect also obtained a library card that same day. Officers were quickly able to identify and locate the suspect. Kaufman was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released for stealing.
4:24 p.m.: In the course of a search warrant carried out Dec. 21, 2022, in the 1000 block of South Harrison Avenue, three credit cards were found, which were later determined to be stolen. Charges of stealing are being requested.
9:40 p.m.: David J. Diamond, 62, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
