This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 10

2:00 p.m.: Kevin Wesley Campbell, 47, of the 1600 block of South Osage Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in reference to a male subject urinating in the parking lot. A witness observed the subject urinating by his vehicle. He was identified and issued a municipal citation for urinating in public.

Feb. 11

4:49 p.m.: Sileper Raed, 26, of the 1200 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after officers observed a temporary tag on a vehicle that expired in November 2022. The driver had a revoked driving status and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released with charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to register a vehicle.

Feb. 12

1:45 a.m.: Caltzontzin Gonzalez Alfonso, 2600 block of Bristol Lane, was arrested after a traffic stop for drifting onto the wrong side of the roadway near East 24th Street and South Marvin Avenue. Alonso was intoxicated and was arrested, transported to the police department, issued a uniform traffic ticket for driving while intoxicated, and released to a sober driver.

4:37 a.m.: Bryan L. Evans, 59, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 400 block of West Fifth Street in reference to property damage no longer in progress. Officers made contact with the caller, who stated that when he came home, he saw his security cameras were knocked down. A suspect was later identified and a city summons was issued for property damage.

9:42 p.m.: Chase Sterling Hodge, 26, of the 2300 block of South Missouri Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a report of an assault. An investigation led to the arrest of Hodge, who was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of third-degree assault.

10:52 p.m.: Isidro Alejo Ubaldo, 43, of the 900 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after a vehicle was observed failing to maintain the right half of the roadway on South Ohio Avenue at East Seventh street. Ubaldo was intoxicated and had a revoked driving status. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated - alcohol and driving with a suspended license.

11:06 p.m.: Thomas Gibbs, 55, of the 1500 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after officers stopped to check on a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway at 25th Street and Grand Avenue. After investigation, Gibbs was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

Feb. 10

12:17 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to harassment. The victim stated a male subject was making threats against her. The man has been identified and state charges are being requested.

5:48 p.m.: A woman came into the police department lobby to report a forgery in the 200 block of Scott Joplin Court. She reported someone changed the routing information on her child support account and has been receiving her money. A report was completed.

7:35 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Hurley Avenue in reference to a medical incident. The victim was highly intoxicated and had been assaulted. He reported being hit in the throat by a man he didn’t know. The intoxicated victim was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Pettis County Ambulance District and subsequently transferred to University Hospital in Columbia for further treatment.

7:46 p.m.: Officers responded to the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a hit-and-run accident in the parking lot. During the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified and charges of a felony leaving the scene of an accident are being requested.

Feb. 11

2:55 a.m.: Officers responded to the 2100 block of West Third Street in reference to a property damage call. The caller stated that a male known to them destroyed some household property and then left. The suspect has been identified, but no contact has been made with them at this time. Charges of first-degree property damage and second-degree property damage will be sent to the prosecutor for review.

Arrests

Feb. 11

12:17 a.m.: Lee W. Dyer, 59, of Centerview, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended driver's license, and a lane violation. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

1:04 p.m.: Austin C. Book, 30, of Independence, was arrested in Pettis County for a felony probation and parole warrant, felony fleeing, felony driving while intoxicated, felony assault, a misdemeanor Buchanan County warrant, and a misdemeanor Platte County warrant. He was transported to the Lafayette County Jail and held with no bond.
