This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 29

4:23 p.m.: Donna S. Thorne, 64, of the 1200 block of South Ohio Avenue, was arrested at her residence for leaving the scene of an accident. An officer responded to a hit-and-run crash in a business parking lot in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. There were no injuries reported. The damage to the victim’s vehicle was reported to be $2,700. The suspect was identified, located and arrested for a warrant and leaving the scene of an accident.

10:11 p.m.: Wayne M. Looney, 35, of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East Third Street and South Lamine Avenue for driving while intoxicated (prior offender). An officer responded to assist with a traffic stop. While talking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of intoxicants on his breath.

11:19 p.m.: Bobbie Joe Gregory, 56, of the 200 block of Rainbow Drive, was arrested at his residence for fourth-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest. Officers were dispatched for a disturbance. As officers arrived, they observed one person punching another. The primary aggressor was arrested and resisted arrest after being placed in handcuffs. During the course of the investigation, it was determined he was intoxicated. He was taken to SPD where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC above 0.08.

Jan. 30

2:35 a.m.: Jacobo Maldonado Aguare, 22, of the 1600 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West 14th Street and South Sneed Avenue for driving while intoxicated. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle that was swerving and drove through a stop sign. The officer detected the odor of intoxicants on the driver’s breath. During the course of the investigation, it was determined he was intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to SPD where he refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and a blood draw was conducted at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

4:51 p.m.: Jeffery L. Waters, 55, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 400 block of West Pettis Street for third-degree domestic assault and third-degree assault. An officer responded to a domestic disturbance report. The officer met with a female who said a person known to her had been assaulting her all day and followed her to the Community Cafe. The victim showed the officer injuries from the suspect. There was another subject on scene who stated he hit the suspect with a wrench after he was attacked. The suspect was later located and taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for his injuries. He was later taken to the Pettis County Jail.

Jan. 31

2:22 a.m.: Kathleen L. Kunkel, 69, of the 300 block of South Stewart Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Main Street and Thompson Road for driving while intoxicated. An officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road. The officer detected the odor of intoxicants on the driver’s breath. During the investigation, it was determined she was intoxicated. She was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where she provided a breath sample that showed her BAC above 0.08.
