This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 25

1:05 p.m.: Billy Bernard Brown, 36, of the 1000 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after an officer performed a traffic stop near East 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue on a car for improper registration. The driver's status had been revoked and Brown was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

Aug. 31

10:43 a.m.: Michael Colby Weatherly, 21, of the 1000 block of South State Fair Boulevard, was arrested after detectives with the Sedalia Police Department and Pettis County Deputies went to the 19000 block of Whitfield Road as part of an investigation into a domestic situation. Contact was made with the suspect and he was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of fraudulent use of a debit device, stealing a debit card, and non-consensual dissemination of sexually explicit material.

Sept. 7

1:11 p.m.: Aaron Dale Fisher, 57, of the 1500 Block of West 18th Street, was arrested after an officer performed a traffic stop near South New York Avenue and East Seventh Street for expired registration. Fisher’s driver's license had been revoked, and he was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released with a charge of driving with a revoked driver's license.

1:46 p.m.: Homer Charles Jacob Lucas Jr, 41, of Otterville, was arrested after officers observed a subject operating a motor vehicle whose license was suspended. A traffic stop was initiated near West 13th Street and South Osage Avenue and Lucas was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked on a State charge of driving with a suspended license.

Sept. 9

12:54 a.m.: Kenneth Donovan Dobson, 19, of the 700 block of East Ninth Street, was arrested after Joint Communications received a call in regard to a stolen motorcycle that was eastbound in the 3600 block of West Main Street. Pettis County Deputies were able to locate the motorcycle but just before a traffic stop the motorcyclist crashed and took off running. Dobson was taken into custody shortly after and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges for felony receiving of stolen property and first-degree felony tampering.

Sept. 13

11:05 p.m.: Latasha L. Wolfe, 32, of the 500 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after a traffic stop at West Seventh and South Kentucky Avenue with a vehicle without its lights on. Wolfe was without a driver's license and intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail booked and released.

Sept. 14

9:45 p.m.: Kourteney Jo Anna Parker, 27, of the 400 block of Buckner Court, was arrested after a traffic stop for speeding at West Main Street and Thompson Road. Parker had a suspended driving privilege and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and issued a traffic ticket for driving with a suspended license.

Sept. 4

4:55 p.m.: A man entered the lobby of the police department to report the violation of an order of protection in the 100 block of West Main Street.

Sept. 10

2:55 p.m.: A woman entered the lobby of the police department to report her lawn items had been stolen.

Sept. 13

11:40 a.m.: An officer responded to the 200 block of East Stewart Avenue in reference to property damage. The residents said a front window had been damaged while they were away. The officer observed the window had been shattered, probably by a pellet or BB gun. There are no suspects.

5:15 p.m.: An officer took a report in the lobby of the police department regarding property damage. The victim stated that after an argument some of her pictures were ripped up.
