This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 14

12:19 a.m.: Jason Dean Homan, 23, of the 300 block of East Saline Street, was arrested after being observed running a stop sign and speeding on East Saline Street. It was determined Homan was intoxicated. He was transported to the police department and then the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving while intoxicated - alcohol.

1:29 a.m.: Cameron S. Keene, 22, of the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive, was arrested after officers were dispatched for a peace disturbance. Keene cursed and yelled at officers trying to collect statements and was eventually arrested for peace disturbance and tampering with the victim. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

1:05 a.m.: Amy Irene Clark, 44, of the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive, was arrested after officers were dispatched for a disturbance. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail for disturbing the peace and tampering with a witness.

June 15

12:35 p.m.: Melissa L. Barker, 45, of the 900 block of Westwood Avenue, was arrested after speeding on East Broadway Boulevard near South Marshall Avenue. Barker was transported to the police department and issued traffic tickets for speeding and driving without a license.

11 p.m.: Michael D. Shields, 53, of the 600 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop at West Sixth Street and South Missouri Avenue for failure to maintain the right half of the roadway and suspicion of impaired driving. Shields was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a state felony charge of driving while intoxicated - drugs - persistent offender.

June 16

Angel L. Metacua, 19, of the 200 block of South Missouri Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 1300 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Loss prevention officers stated Metacua had been stealing merchandise from the business. The employee was transported to the Pettis County Jail for stealing.

Incidents

June 13

12:11 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to East Seventh Street and South Engineer Avenue for a hit-and-run accident. The suspect was believed to be the same driver in another accident shortly afterward. State charges of leaving the scene of an accident are being submitted to the prosecutor.

June 16

12:50 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Fifth Street for a report of arson. The victim stated overnight, someone tried to catch her house on fire. The corner of the house had been damaged from what appeared to be a small fire and the State Fire Marshal was contacted. Information about a possible suspect and evidence was gathered.

7:17 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a theft. The reporting party’s wallet was stolen from her vehicle while it was in the parking lot. A suspect has not been identified.

9:34 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 800 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a disturbance. The reporting party stated a male subject exited his vehicle in the drive-thru lane and pointed a gun at her. The suspect has not been identified.

June 17

1:48 a.m.: Officers took a report in the 300 block of West Main Street from a victim who said last week someone stole two license plates off his vehicles and damaged another vehicle.

8:28 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. They gathered the necessary information to generate a report.

9:03 p.m.: Officers took a theft report from West Broadway Boulevard and South Carr Avenue. Officers spoke with the reporting party, who stated she left her wallet sitting on the counter at a business in the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard. When she returned, someone had taken it. No suspects have been identified.

June 18

2:20 a.m.: Officers responded to the 500 block of South Lafayette Avenue in reference to a structure fire. Officers were able to get surrounding residents to safety while the Sedalia Fire Department dealt with the blaze. At this time, it is unknown what caused the fire and a general information report was made.

7:28 a.m.: An officer responded to the intersection of South Ingram Avenue and East 10th Street in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The victim said her vehicle was struck overnight while parked on Ingram. The striking vehicle left without providing information and no suspect has been identified.

9:45 a.m.: An officer responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room for a subject who had been struck by a vehicle. The individual said he was struck at West 10th Street and Sneed Avenue and the vehicle fled the scene. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.

11:44 a.m.: An officer responded to West 16th Street and South Limit Avenue for a hit-and-run accident. The victim stated she was side-swiped by a vehicle that fled without providing information. The other car was located a short time later and a crash report was completed. Charges are not being sought.

Arrests

June 16

10:57 a.m.: Jersey C. Clevenger, 20, of Lee's Summit, was arrested in Johnson County for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a child - creating substantial risk - first offense.

11:30 p.m.: Yevgeniy I. Sonikk, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and exceeding the speed limit by more than 26 mph. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
