This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 29

7:31 p.m.: Jonathan Michael Rockett, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to the 500 block of West Main Street for a burglary alarm. Officers noted a broken door, but no one was inside. Later that evening, Rockett turned himself into the Pettis County Jail, where officers placed him under arrest and he confessed to second-degree burglary and second-degree property damage.

March 16

12:53 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue to investigate a report of theft. The complainant said a suspect stole merchandise from the business on five separate occasions since January. The suspect was identified and charges have been requested for felony stealing.

March 25

9:45 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a theft. Employees said a male subject attempted to leave the store without paying for consumable items. When confronted, the man handed over the stolen items before leaving the area on foot. Officers arrived to check the area but were not able to locate the alleged thief.

March 27

8:23 p.m.: Officers took a report in the 600 block of West Third Street. The caller reported she had a package delivered to her house and an unknown suspect came onto her porch and stole the package in the early morning hours. There is no suspect at the time of this report.

March 28

9:34 p.m.: Officers responded to the 800 block of East 15th Street for a property damage report. The caller said a female known to her came to her house and deflated a tire on her car. Charges are being submitted to the prosecutor.

11:30 p.m.: Officers responded to the 800 block of West Seventh Street for a property damage report. When they arrived, contact was made with the vehicle owner, who reported a window on her vehicle had been broken and her bag with an electronic device was stolen. There is no suspect information at this time.

March 29

3:22 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Management said a male left the store without paying for items totaling $41.35. No suspect has been identified.

March 29

Midnight: Deputies took a report for burglary and possible abuse in the 24000 block of Shannon Road in Pettis County. The investigation continues.
