This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 8

3:29 a.m.: Samuel J. Blanchard, 58, of the 400 block of Albright Court, was arrested after being observed crossing outside the line while negotiating a curve just east of Marshall Avenue on Broadway Boulevard. Blanchard, the driver, had a Boone County warrant and the passenger, Marcus Mantrell McKnight, 36, of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, had five failure-to-appear Sedalia warrants. McKnight was in possession of a controlled substance and introduced it into the jail. State charges have been requested on Blanchard for illegal material on the front side windows and state felony charges on McKnight for possession of a controlled substance and introduction of a controlled substance into a jail facility.

May 9

4:38 p.m.: Margarito Marcos Quetzecua, 25, of the 700 block of West Cooper Street, was arrested after a vehicle stopped near West 16th Street and South State Fair Boulevard for speeding. The driver had a suspended license and a warrant and was intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license, and the warrant.

May 10

8:26 p.m.: Ernesto A. Che Xol, 24, of the 1600 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue for illegal window tint. The driver also had no license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released for driving without a valid license and illegal material on the front side windows.

10:22 p.m.: Marco Hernandez, 33, of the 24000 block of Highway 765, was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle making an improper pass on a hill through various intersections. The driver did not have a valid license, only a Mexican ID. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, fingerprinted, booked and released. Charges for driving without a valid license and careless and imprudent driving are being requested.

May 11

2:27 p.m.: Joseph Kulian, 37, of the 1000 block of East Third Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Third Street and South Kentucky Avenue. The driver had a revoked license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released pending charges of driving with a revoked license.

May 12

1:32 a.m.: Patrick J. Michel, 47, of the 400 block of West Sixth Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard for reports of a fight involving a knife. An investigation determined a knife was brandished during a fight and Michel was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon.

1:54 a.m.: Anthony B. Brewer, 48, of the 400 block of East Chestnut Street, was arrested after officers responded for a domestic disturbance in progress. The victim reported a man known to her was actively fighting her and attempting to take a number of pills to harm himself. While officers were en route, the suspect fled in a vehicle, which was located by a Pettis County Sheriff's deputy and a traffic stop was initiated. Officers arrived moments later and began questioning the suspect, who refused multiple times to step out of the vehicle. Brewer resisted arrest and was assisted to the ground and into handcuffs. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of second-degree domestic assault, resisting arrest and two counts of third-degree assault on a special victim.

1:01 p.m.: Brandon J. Miller, 41, of the 3000 block of Oak Brook Boulevard, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop near West Sixth Street and South Missouri Avenue. Miller was identified as having a suspended license. He was given a citation and released at the scene.

Incidents

May 6

8:56 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of West Third Street for a report of an assault that occurred in the 2400 block of Dennis Road.

May 7

3:05 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the intersection of South Kentucky Avenue and West Second Street for a hit-and-run accident that had just occurred. They gathered information from the victim and witnesses. Video from surrounding buildings was also collected. A suspect vehicle was positively identified. A report was completed and charges were sent to the prosecutor's office.

May 9

12:56 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after the driver disobeyed the stop sign at West 10th Street and Thompson Boulevard. It also had illegal window tint. A state charge of illegal window material on the front side windows was requested.

1:07 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle after it conducted an improper turn at 10th Street and Thompson Boulevard. The vehicle also had illegal window tint and a state charge on the driver for illegal window material has been requested.

4:03 p.m.: A man came into the SPD lobby to report his garage in the 1100 block of South State Fair Boulevard was broken into overnight. He reported his dirt bike was stolen.

May 10

8:20 a.m.: Marshall T. Sims, 39, of the 1200 block of South Washington Boulevard, was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Barrett Avenue. The driver was arrested for felony driving with a suspended license.

2:53 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to East Broadway Boulevard and South Massachusetts Avenue for a hit-and-run accident. They gathered information from the victim and a report was completed.

7:46 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a truck near West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue for illegal window tint. A state charge of illegal window material has been requested on the driver.

8:11 p.m.: Officers responded to the 500 block of North Prospect Avenue and made contact with a female caller who said three people had visited her house throughout the evening and may have stolen her car keys. Information was gathered for a report.

9:42 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard regarding a case of trespassing. Upon arrival, they spoke with an employee who said there was a suspect who had been trespassed from all of the business’ locations and had been on the property. The employee said the suspect had taken off before the officers arrived. Formal charges of trespassing are pending through the Pettis County prosecutor's office.

May 11

1:05 a.m.: An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near East Broadway Boulevard and South Marvin Avenue for illegal window tint. A state charge of illegal window material on the front side windows has been requested.

1:22 a.m.: An officer observed a westbound vehicle drifting and failing to maintain a lane on Broadway Boulevard. A vehicle stop found the driver had a suspended driver's license. She was processed on scene and issued court summons for driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance and failure to signal.

5:01 a.m.: An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for illegal window tint at West Broadway Boulevard and Winchester Drive. The tint measured 4%, well below the legal limit of 35%, and state charges of illegal material on the front side windows have been requested.

3:16 p.m.: Officers responded to a civil standby in the 500 block of East 10th Street. One person claimed to have been assaulted by a male and a report was generated.

4:54 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to East Tower Road for destruction of property. They made contact with the reporting party and gathered information for a report.

6:19 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the Missouri State Fairgrounds, 2503 W. 16th St., specifically the women's bathroom area next to the campground, regarding a phone theft. They spoke with a victim and gathered information for a report. The phone was not located.

May 12

8:10 a.m.: An officer responded to the 3200 block of West 16th Street in reference to a vehicle being broken into and personal belongings being stolen.

7:22 p.m.: A vehicle was stopped near East Broadway Boulevard and South Emmett Avenue for following too closely. Charges of no front plate, illegal window tint and following too closely are being requested on the driver.

7:36 p.m.: A vehicle was stopped for illegal window tint on the front side windows near East Seventh Street and South Washington Avenue. State charges are being requested.

8:23 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard for a domestic physical disturbance. They made contact with a female victim who said a man known to her rammed her vehicle with his vehicle. She said the man took the keys to her vehicle and hit her in the face. It was discovered the man entered an innocent bystander’s apartment looking for a male subject. Information was gathered for a report.

8:57 p.m.: Officers took a trespassing report from a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a subject on the property that was formally trespassed. A report was collected and a first-degree trespassing charge is being requested.

10:16 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Engineer Avenue for a hit-and-run accident. They made contact with the victim, who said a burgundy van struck their red Ford F-150 and continued driving, swerving in the roadway. Officers collected information for a report.

May 13

2:12 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the residential area in the 1800 block of South Vermont Avenue, where a previous theft from a vehicle was reported. They spoke with the victim and gathered information for a report. At this time, a suspect has not been identified.

4:36 a.m.: Officers responded to the 100 block of West Cooper Street for a stolen vehicle report. The victim reported seeing his vehicle before going to bed, but when he went to leave for work in the morning, it was gone. The vehicle was entered into the system as stolen and a report was completed.

5:16 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Quincy Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle. They spoke with the victim and gathered information for a report. The vehicle was entered into the system as stolen.

Arrests

May 10

8:43 p.m.: Jenna B. Brownle, 37, of St. Louis, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, following too closely, cutting in on an overtaken vehicle, and failure to signal. She was transported to the Lafayette County Jail and released.

May 11

1:05 a.m.: Elayna R. Hernandez, 22, of Clinton, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. She was transported to the Henry County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.

May 12

2:10 a.m.: Jeronimo Ubaldo, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated with a person less than 17 in the vehicle, failing to maintain the right-half of the roadway, no driver's license and no insurance. He was transported to the Pettis County jail and released.

11:25 p.m.: Andrew C. Riley, 44, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County for driving with a suspended license and a misdemeanor warrant from Belton.
