This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 14

11:28 p.m.: Crystal Sheresa Tomasen Burton, 38, of the 1100 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near East 11th Street and South Summit Avenue for being known to have a suspended license. Burton was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.

Sept. 20

12:35 a.m.: Sarita Linda Leon, 61, of the 600 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to West Broadway Boulevard and South Ohio Avenue in reference to a subject in the roadway with their pants down. Leon was found flagging down a car on South Kentucky Avenue, then walking back to a business in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. She had previously been trespassed from the property and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit of confinement exam, then the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24-hour hold. A charge of first-degree trespassing has been submitted to the prosecutor.

Incidents

Sept. 17

9:44 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to an attempted theft. Loss prevention officers stated that on two separate occasions, a man attempted to steal from the store but noticed he was being monitored, dumped the items and left. He has not been identified.

Sept. 18

4:09 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a theft that occurred in the 2000 block of South Harrison Avenue. The victim said over the weekend, one of the license plates was stolen from their vehicle. The plate was entered into the system as stolen.

5:30 p.m.: A complainant called from their business in the 3500 block of West Broadway Boulevard to report someone ate at the restaurant and then left without paying. The restaurant wished to assist in prosecution.

Sept. 19

11:22 a.m.: A female entered the lobby of the police department to report harassment in the 1500 block of South Missouri Avenue. A report was completed.

5:01 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue in reference to lost property. The caller said she lost her purse with her medication and did not know where.

Arrests

Sept. 19

12:48 p.m.: Allison L. Simons, 36, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County for felony possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Johnson County Jail and released.
