Smith-Cotton High School senior Blake Osteen has accepted a Marching and Concert Band Scholarship from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. Osteen, the son of Dane and Melanie Osteen, has earned three varsity letters in band and was a drum major for the Smith-Cotton Tiger Pride Marching Band his senior year. He also was a soloist with the marching band and concert band and received the John Phillip Sousa Band Award.
Osteen was a Link Crew leader, member of FBLA and competed in wrestling and baseball for the Tigers.
S-C Director of Bands Grant Maledy said, “Blake has been a fantastic student who helps students come together and work towards common goals. Blake has a bright future ahead of him and he'll be missed here at S-C.”
