Posted

State Fair Community College will host three of Missouri’s annual free FAFSA Frenzy events from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 12, Oct. 21 and Nov. 3.

The Oct. 12 event will be in Donald C. Proctor Library computer lab on the Sedalia campus, 3201 W. 16th St. The Oct. 21 event will be in the computer lab on SFCC’s Clinton campus in Truman Regional Education Center, 1701 N. Second St. The Nov. 3 event will be in the computer lab on SFCC’s Lake of the Ozarks campus, Stone Crest Mall, 3797 Osage Beach Parkway, Osage Beach.

These come-and-go events help college-bound students apply for financial aid.

FAFSA Frenzy offers free help to prospective and current students and parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is the first step in applying for federal, state and institutional financial assistance programs.

Financial aid professionals will be on hand to assist attendees in completing the 2022-23 FAFSA on site and provide pertinent information about federal and state funding and scholarships. Suggested items students and parents should bring are 2020 tax forms, 2020 W-2s, Social Security Number, FSA ID username and password (create this at fsaid.ed.gov), and records of untaxed income and assets. At this time, face coverings are required.

Students attending a FAFSA Frenzy event can register to win a $500 Journey to College Book Scholarship. The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development will award 20 scholarships in partnership with the Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation and MyScholarship Central. Winners will receive their scholarships upon receipt of enrollment verification for the 2022 fall term in a Missouri postsecondary program.
