During the week of Sept. 28 through Oct. 2, the Pettis County Commission completed the following:
Tuesday, Sept. 29:
The Commission held a county handbook general policies work session with HR and Payroll Specialist Marie Kringle.
The Commission met with University of Missouri Pettis County Extension for their quarterly report. Present: Pettis County Extension Council Chair Patty Wood, Pettis County Extension Council Vice Chair Kay Sparks, Pettis County Extension Council Member Natalia Reed, Pettis County Extension Council Member Teresa Fortune, Extension Engagement Specialist and Interim Regional Director - West Central Region Elaine Anderson.
The Commission approved Change Order 10 from OWN for a deduction for the North 65 project.
The Commission approved Anderson RD concurrence and awarded the bid to Gene Haile Excavating as recommended by OWN Project Engineer Mitch Gibler.
The Commission held a work session for proposed Ordinance #10-2026-1898 for solar.
Attorney Myron McNeal and Citizen Travis Jobe visited the Commission to discuss Redbud Lane..
Wednesday, Sept. 30
The Commission attended the Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County grand opening and ribbon cutting. Also present: Congressman Mark Alford, Sheriff Brad Anders, GIS and Grants Director James Theisen.
Thursday, Oct. 1
The Commission presented a proclamation to CASA declaring October 2026 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Present: CASA Amanda Gaspard, CASA Julie Hoffert, CASA Charm the Therapy Dog, CASA Joylynn Allard.
The Commission held a county handbook general policies work session with HR and Payroll Specialist Marie Kringle.
