Veterans United Home Loans, the nation’s largest VA purchase lender, launched the second round of its Flourish Initiative Scholarship for 2021.
The new scholarship program supports students of color, ages 18 and older, with unmet financial needs, in their journey toward success within their program of choice, intended career path, and community. The scholarship is open to members of an underrepresented racial or ethnic marginalized community pursuing a program that starts in Fall 2021. Preference will be given to students who are first-generation, non-traditional, or identify as low-income and have unmet financial needs.
In 2020, Veterans United launched the scholarship program to bring awareness to social injustice and economic disparity. A total of $86,150 went to 14 scholarships and 14 grant recipients in Missouri.
