This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 15

11:20 a.m.: Brandon Louis Srader Sr., 36, of the 400 block of South New York Avenue, received a municipal court summons for a charge of stealing. An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of stealing. He spoke with the complainant, who said an employee saw Srader take a bottle of Captain Morgan from a shelf and walk to the back of the store. Then, another employee saw him conceal the bottle in his pants. When employees confronted him, Srader left the store. The officer found Srader and issued a municipal court summons.

2 p.m.: Chukwubogu M. Okwedi, 27, of the 23000 block of Mather Road, received a municipal court summons for a charge of urinating in public. Officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a subject check. They spoke with a complainant and a witness and learned Okwedi pulled into the auto service of a business and urinated next to his car. The officers issued a municipal court summons and are referring the case to the state prosecutor for review.

Nov. 16

2:55 p.m.: Jillian K. Walker, 24, of the 2300 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested on charges of not having proof of insurance and driving with a suspended license. An officer responded to West Third Street and South Moniteau Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle collision. While checking driver information, the officer found Walker’s license was suspended through the state of Illinois and had a no-operator’s status through Missouri.

Incidents

Nov. 16

7:50 a.m.: An officer took a burglary report in the police station lobby. The subject said someone broke into his house and stole two of his checks. He noticed the day of the report that he was missing a total of $500 from his bank account. The subject checked with the bank and found that a known suspect wrote two checks to herself and forged his name. The officer is pursuing charges of burglary, property damage, theft and forgery.

2:35 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of West Broadway Boulevard where he spoke with a Department of Family Services worker. The officer interviewed a victim and a suspect regarding sexual abuse.

4:30 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of West Morgan Street for a report of a sex crime. Complainants said a family member had abused another relative.

Arrests

Nov. 16

11:10 p.m.: Romie D. Coursey, 59, of Springfield, was arrested in Henry County on charges of felony possession of crack cocaine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Nov. 17

2 a.m.: Daniel A. Pritchard, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

11:50 a.m.: Matthew M. Thomas, 25, of Centerview, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felony driving while revoked, felony leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash and not wearing a seat belt. Troopers also served three misdemeanor warrants from Independence.
