One killed, one injured in Benton County rollover

Walter R. Spooner, 64, of Warsaw, was killed and Craig A. Ralston, 52, of Mattson, Illinois, sustained serious injuries at 7:52 p.m. Saturday in a Benton County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ralston was driving a 2005 Ford F250 south on state Route 7 at West Dam Access Road when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and over-corrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway and overturn.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Spooner was pronounced dead on scene by Benton County Coroner Weston Miller. Ralston was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.

Whiteman AFB woman hurt in Johnson County accident

Asia M. Ruggs, 19, of Whiteman Air Force Base, suffered minor injuries at 3:20 p.m. Friday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ruggs was driving a 2023 Toyota Corolla south on Southeast 361 Road. As she traveled into the intersection, she abruptly stopped and was hit by a 2024 Chevrolet 3500 driven by Jason A. Wilson, 44, of Warrensburg.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Ruggs was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by Johnson County Ambulance District.

Sedalia man hurt on electric mini bike

Christopher G. Blickenstaff, 41, of Sedalia, suffered minor injuries at 2 p.m. Sunday in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Blickenstaff was driving a 2020 Burromax electric mini bike west on U.S. Highway 50, west of Maplewood Road, when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a curb.

Blickenstaff was wearing a helmet and was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Two hurt in golf cart vs truck accident

Larry L. Skinner, 51, of Slater, suffered minor injuries and Dale R. Skinner, 58, of Slater, suffered moderate injuries at 7:17 p.m. April 15 in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Larry Skinner was driving a 1995 EZGO golf cart west on Parker Street, and was overtaken and struck while stopped in traffic by a 1999 Chevrolet S10 driven by John R. Reeves, 47, of Slater.

No one was wearing a seat belt. Larry and Dale were transported by Saline County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia.

Teen driver hurt in Saline County mishap

A 17-year-old girl from Marshall suffered minor injuries at 6:59 a.m. Sunday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the girl was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta south on 192nd Street when she failed to negotiate a curve and her vehicle slid off the roadway.

She was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall by Saline County Ambulance District.
