Stover man killed in Morgan County accident
Michael A. Kern, 79, of Stover was killed at 10:57 p.m. Wednesday in a Morgan County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kern was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 north on Ivy Bend Road when he crossed the center of the road, overcorrected causing the vehicle to skid off the right side of the road, overturn and strike a tree.
Kern was not wearing a seat belt, and was pronounced dead on the scene by coroner M.B. Jones. He was transported to Kidwell Garber Funeral Home.
Columbia woman injured in Saline County accident
Terry B. Newham, 60, of Columbia suffered moderate injuries at 10 a.m. Wednesday in a Saline County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Newham was driving a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan west on I-70 when she traveled into the left lane to pass a tractor trailer and was struck by a 2009 Ford F250 driven by Matthew R. Butler, 50, of Kansas City, also westbound.
Newham was wearing a seat belt, and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by Saline County ambulance District.
