Two from Green Ridge injured in Highway 50 incident

Ronald E. Smith, 76, and Jodean M. Smith, 77, both of Green Ridge, sustained moderate injuries at 1:52 p.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ronald Smith was driving a 2020 Dodge Caravan east on U.S. Highway 50 when he traveled off the left side of the road and crossed the eastbound lanes of U.S. 50.

The Smiths were wearing seat belts and were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

Barnett man injured in Morgan accident

Alfred J. Vaniten, 80, of Barnett, sustained moderate injuries at noon Monday in a Morgan County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Vaniten was driving a 2020 Ram 1500 east on state Route 52 and attempted to make a left turn in front of a 2006 Peterbilt driven by William B. Fowler, 53, of Windsor. The Peterbilt struck the Ram truck, which then traveled off the right side of the road and struck a building and two parked cars.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Vaniten was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

Gladstone woman injured in Pettis County accident

Taylor N. McIntyre, 24, of Gladstone, sustained moderate injuries at 5:50 p.m. Monday in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, McIntyre was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox east on U.S. Highway 50 near Dresden when she traveled off the right side of the road and struck several trees.

She was not wearing a seat belt and was transported by the Pettis County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Moberly cyclist in serious condition after Saline accident

Michael R. Clark, 61, of Moberly, sustained serious injuries at 11:45 a.m. Monday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Clark was driving a 1996 Harley-Davidson east on I-70, and was slowing for traffic, when he began to slide and overturned.

It is unknown if Clark was wearing a helmet. He was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence by Sweet Springs Ambulance District.
