Two from Warsaw injured in ATV accident

Carolyn S. Shirley, 66, of Warsaw, sustained moderate injuries, and Danny T. Cole, 62, of Warsaw, sustained minor injuries at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday in a Benton County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cole was driving an unknown make three-wheel ATV south on Route 83 at Branch Road and traveled off the right side of the roadway, ejecting both occupants.

They were not wearing helmets. Cole was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. Shirley was transported by WLAD to Lake Regional Hospital in Camdenton.

Kingsville man in serious condition after Johnson County accident

Billy R. Ortan, 51, of Kingsville, sustained serious injuries at 10:34 p.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ortan was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus west on NW 100th Road when he traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

It is unknown if Ortan was wearing a seat belt. He was transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Three injured when tractor-trailer overturns in Pettis County

Xavier I. Jones, 21, of Blue Springs, sustained moderate injuries, and Adam W. Kirkwood, 29, and Jeffrey A. Stevvins, 31, both of Kansas City, both sustained minor injuries at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kirkwood was driving at 2020 Freightliner north on U.S. Highway 65 north of Bothwell Park Road when he overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn in the median.

The driver and passengers were all wearing seat belts. Jones was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center, and Kirkwood and Stevvins were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
