According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cooper was driving a 2018 Mac Pinnacle west on state Route 52 east of Gates Road when he lost consciousness, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway and strike a tree.
Cooper was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Mid-MO Ambulance District.
Jeffery D. Griggs, 59, of California, Missouri, suffered minor injuries at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday in a Morgan County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Griggs was driving a 2001 Ford Sports Trac east on Route C at Ridgewood Road when he steered to the right to avoid hitting a second vehicle and crossed the roadway. His vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and crossed Ridgewood Road. Griggs overcorrected, causing the vehicle to return to the roadway, go off the left side and strike an embankment, overturning and hitting a fence before coming to rest.
Griggs was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City by Mid-MO Ambulance District.
