Three from Warrensburg injured in Johnson accident

Ronald L. Wyatt, 66, and Bonnie K. Wyatt, 64, both of Warrensburg, both sustained serious injuries, and a 16-year-old male from Warrensburg sustained moderate injuries at 5:14 p.m. Sunday in a Johnson County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Ford Mustang and driven by the 16-year-old recklessly accelerated out of the roundabout and struck a 2006 Buick Encore driven by Bonnie Wyatt head-on.

Everyone was wearing seat belts. The teen was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by private vehicle. The Wyatts were transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Man from Whiteman Air Force Base hurt in deer strike 

Andrew J. Collins, 30, of Whiteman Air Force Base, sustained minor injuries at 7:28 p.m. Sunday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Collins was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse south on state Route 23 when he struck a deer.

He was wearing a seat belt, and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. 

Two from California killed in collision with grain truck

Richard E. Manning, 79, and Mary L. Manning, 74, both of California, Missouri, were killed at 6:58 p.m. Saturday in a Moniteau County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Richard Manning was driving a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica east on U.S. Highway 50 near Cross Lane Road. A 1998 Kenworth grain truck driven by Benjamin A. Knipp, 26, of Tipton, was starting to make a left turn when it was struck in the rear by the Chrysler. Mary Manning was wearing a seat belt, but Richard Manning reportedly was not.

The Mannings were pronounced dead on scene by Moniteau County Coroner Brad Friedmeyer.

Concordia woman killed in Morgan accident

Amber T. Racicot, 23, of Concordia, was killed at 3:28 p.m. Sunday in a Morgan County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Racicot was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer north on Route D north of Sparrow Lane when she crossed the centerline, traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned. 

She was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected.

Racocot was pronounced dead on scene by Morgan County Coroner Hunter Denman.

Four from Sedalia injured in Pettis accident

Jennifer L. Jones, 39, a 9-year-old male, a 6-year-old female and a 5-year-old female, all of Sedalia, all sustained moderate injuries at 11:37 a.m. Friday in a Pettis County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jones was driving a 2005 Dodge south on Route TT at Lambs Ford Road and lost control of the vehicle at a high rate of speed. The vehicle traveled off the roadway, over and off Lamms Ford Road, became airborne, and came to rest off the roadway. 

No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt. The children were transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center. Jones was transported to University Hospital in Columbia. 

Jones was arrested for driving while intoxicated – drugs, failure to maintain the right-half of the roadway resulting in a crash, two child seat violations, two seat belt violations, and no valid driver's license. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released. 

Teens from Marshall hurt in Saline accident 

A 16-year-old female from Marshall sustained moderate injuries and a 17-year-old female from Marshall sustained minor injuries at 12:34 p.m. Saturday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the 17-year old driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was headed south on Route 41 when she traveled off the right side of the road. She returned to the road, traveled off the right side of the road again, overturned and hit a fence. Both teens were wearing seat belts, and were transported by private conveyance to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
