This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 16

4:27 p.m.: Kimberly S. Ballenger, 43, of the 300 block of McAnally Court, was arrested after officers were dispatched to Walmart, 3201 W. Broadway Blvd., in reference to a shoplifting incident. Ballenger was released with a court summons for stealing and the items were returned to the store.

10:17 p.m.: Anthony K. Richardson, 23, of the 30000 block of Summers Drive, was arrested after a traffic stop for multiple moving violations on West Broadway Boulevard near South Park Avenue. Richardson was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and charged with DWI - drugs.

Aug. 17

12:37 a.m.: Victor Melo, 30, of Stover, was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop at West 16th Street and Clarendon Road. Melo did not have a valid license and was cited. Another driver arrived to pick up the vehicle.

3:45 a.m.: Terence A. Cline Jr, 36, of the 900 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a domestic assault. They spoke with the subjects and Cline was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for second-degree domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

5:00 a.m.: Tonya Alvarez, 60, of the 1000 block of South Carr Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the report of an intoxicated driver. A car was found parked crooked in the roadway and Alvarez was seen stumbling away. She was intoxicated and a witness said had been driving. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Incidents

Aug. 16

12:39 p.m.: A man walked into the lobby of the police department to report his debit card had been stolen.

Aug. 17

10:05 a.m.: Officers responded to the 2500 block of Greenwood Lane, in reference to a domestic disturbance. They made contact with all parties but could not determine a primary aggressor. A 12-hour log was made for documentation.

4:58 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Warren Avenue in reference to a theft from a vehicle. The victim reported a firearm was stolen from his vehicle overnight.
