This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 23

10:26 p.m.: Inocente Prisiliano Miranda, 46, Of the 200 block of Quincy Avenue ,was arrested after an officer responded to the Fox Theater, 501 S. Ohio Ave., in reference to individuals littering the sidewalks and area with beer bottles and trash. One of the patrons of the party stumbled out of the Fox to a nearby business and urinated on it. While being arrested, Miranda resisted and was restrained, transported to the police department, issued a uniform traffic ticket for urinating in public and resisting arrest, and was released.

Sept. 30

7:21 p.m.: Jersi Claros, 33, of the 500 block of West Second Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched for a 911 call. There had been a disturbance and Claros was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault.

8:35 p.m.: Shayla K. Russell, 30, of the 400 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East Third Street for a domestic violence incident. A female had struck a male in the face causing minor injury and Russell was arrested, searched and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. She was transported to Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of fourth-degree domestic assault and drug possession.

Oct. 1

1:46 a.m.: Scott Casswell, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to Bothwell Regional Health Center in reference to trespassing. The caller said a subject was refusing to leave and when directed by police did not leave. Casswell was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of first-degree trespassing.

Sept. 28

1:19 p.m.: Officers took a report of property damage at Comfort Inn, 3600 W. Broadway Blvd. A report was completed.

3:10 p.m.: A woman entered the lobby of the police department to turn in a found phone from the 1100 block of West 10th Street. It was placed into evidence as found property.

10:42 p.m.: A man from the 800 block of East Fourth Street came to the lobby of the police department to report his EBT card was stolen. A report was completed.

Sept. 29

5:52 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Washington Avenue in reference to the theft of a moped. The responding party stated he woke up, his garage door was open, and his moped was gone. It was entered into the system as stolen.

8:11 p.m.: A woman contacted the police department to report her vehicle was stolen from the 400 block of North Prospect Avenue.

10:25 p.m.: An officer spoke with a woman on South Ohio Avenue over the phone about her bank account being hacked. A report was completed

Sept. 30

8:19 a.m.: A cell phone was found in the 2400 block of South New York Avenue. It was turned in at the police station and will be held for safekeeping.

10:56 a.m.: Sedalia police took a theft report in the lobby of the police department from a victim in the 700 block of East Ninth Street who reported her firearm was stolen from her residence.

Oct. 1

2:02 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 16th Street in regard to suspicious circumstances. The reporting party stated they were remodeling inside their residence and bones were located within the crawl space. This is still being investigated.

6:27 p.m.: Officers responded to West 16th Street and South Limit Avenue for a disturbance in a parking lot. The subjects involved were contacted and an assault had occurred. No primary aggressor could be determined and a 12-hour log was started to document the incident.

Arrests

Sept. 29

7:43 p.m.: Michelle A. Larsen, 52, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and cutting-in on an overtaken vehicle. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

8:39 p.m.: Juan Patricio, 29, of Pleasant Hill, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive in a single lane, speeding, failure to proceed with caution passing emergency vehicles displaying red and blue lights, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, no insurance, and no driver's license. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and released.

Sept. 30

1:56 a.m.: Kimberly R. Short, 23, of Knob Noster, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. She was transported to the Henry County Jail and released.

Oct. 1

1:45 a.m.: Phuoc C. Hong, 41, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving while intoxicated, speeding, and a misdemeanor warrant from Concordia police department for tall weeds and grass. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

4:18 p.m.: John P. Withers, 41, of Sedalia was arrested in Pettis County for felony driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
