This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 4

12:54 p.m.: Crystal Lorene Curry, 34, of the 400 block of Albright Court, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a physical disturbance. They talked with a subject that later was determined to be the victim. Another officer located Curry who was arrested for third-degree assault and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Incidents

Oct. 4

1:55 p.m.: An officer responded to Dollar General, 713 East Broadway Blvd., for a found property report. The reporting party found a pouch containing drugs and drug paraphernalia which were collected and placed into evidence as found property.

2:26 p.m.: Sedalia police took a fraud/theft report from a local banking institution. The case is currently under investigation.

3:26 p.m.: Sedalia police responded to Industrial Road north of Broadway Boulevard for a reported hit-and-run accident. The victim and occupants were able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle and driver. Law enforcement was able to identify the suspect vehicle and driver from a stolen vehicle and theft that was reported in Johnson County. The vehicle was recovered in Saline County later that evening and the suspect was taken into custody, transported to the Saline County Jail and charges were submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor for crimes committed in this jurisdiction.

Oct. 5

3:12 p.m.: A pocket knife found on Third Street near Liberty Park was turned into the police department and placed into found property.
