This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 19

5:41 a.m.: Katie Marie Fischer, 31, of the 800 block of South Missouri Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched for someone attempting to jump off a roof. Officers discovered that it was a domestic disturbance with weapons. Fischer was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

2:19 p.m.: Susan A. Sweeney, 45, of the 900 block of Winchester Drive, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a theft report. An employee said a subject came into the store, stole Gatorade and left. Sweeney was located and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released for shoplifting.

2:41 p.m.: Kathleen M. Sackett, 69, of the 2700 block of Wabash Drive, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. Sackett was detained and released with a court summons for stealing approximately $40 in merchandise.

2:48 p.m.: Joseph James Sullivan, 40, of the 1100 block of West 10th Street, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop at Third Street and South Massachusetts Avenue on a vehicle with defective equipment. The driver had a suspended license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of driving while suspended and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

4:45 p.m.: Christopher N. Steck, 33, and Natasha R. Hicks, 30, of the 600 block of West Sixth Street, were arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. Suspects were detained and released with a court summons.

April 20

12:39 p.m.: Martavius Keyshawn Thomas, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a report of trespassing in the 300 block of West Seventh Street. They identified the suspect and he was transported to the Pettis County Jail without incident.

3:08 p.m.: Jill Renee Slocum, 37, of the 900 block of East Ninth Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of theft. Slocum was transported to the Pettis County Jail without incident.

6:30 p.m.: Wraymond J. Merriott Jr., 55, of the 900 block of South Ohio Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft. They conducted an investigation and issued a court summons for misdemeanor theft.

8:24 p.m.: Jose Rodriguez Talabera, 39, of the 1300 block of Grand Avenue, was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop at West 16th Street and South Moniteau Avenue. The driver had a revoked driving status and was issued a municipal citation.

April 21

9:33 a.m.: Alexander Rhea Logan, 26, of the 800 block of West 16th Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 700 block of West 16th Street to investigate a report of fraudulent use of a credit card. The officer met with the victim, who stated his wallet and its contents were taken from his unlocked vehicle while parked at his residence in the 1800 block of South Park Avenue. The victim stated he had information that someone had successfully used his Cash App card once and then tried to use it again at the 16th Street business. The suspect was soon located and taken into custody for fraudulent use of a credit device. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges.

10:29 a.m.: Renee M. Fortune, 50, of the 2500 block of Anderson Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of trespassing. Fortune had previously been trespassed from the business and was located on the north side of a neighboring business. She refused orders and took off in a vehicle and was followed to her house, where she again resisted arrest, began fighting with an officer, and at one point, she reached toward a waistband where a gun was later recovered. Fortune was secured in cuffs and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of first-degree trespassing, resisting arrest, two counts of assault against law enforcement officers, sexual misconduct and armed criminal action.

Incidents

April 19

11:17 p.m.: An officer spoke with the subject in the lobby of the police department regarding a harassment situation. The subject gave details relating to an incident in which they were concerned. Charges were not requested, but a report was generated for documentation purposes.

April 20

12:41 p.m.: An officer took a report for a stolen motorcycle from the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard. There are no suspects.

6:43 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 7010 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a counterfeit bill. A subject attempted to use the counterfeit bill to pay for items in the store but the clerk realized it was fake and was able to collect proper payment for items. The bill was placed into evidence and a report was made for documentation. No charges were filed.

April 21

5:01 a.m.: Officers responded to the 200 block of South Prospect Avenue regarding a report of harassment. The suspect had already left the scene and was unable to be located. Charges are being requested through the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.

2:00 p.m.: An officer took a theft report of a mini bike stolen from a residence in the 1400 block of South Park Avenue. There are no suspects.

8:25 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of East 13th Street for an assault. They made contact with the victim, who suffered a minor knife wound to the face. The suspect had fled the scene before officers’ arrival but has been identified and state charges are being requested.

Arrests

April 21

12:27: Cynthia R. Wilson, 24, of Kansas City, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated-drugs. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

1:33 a.m.: Aryana Sriboon, 20, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

2:02 a.m.: Stacy L. Doss, 52, of Tipton, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while intoxicated. He was released on summons.
