This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 22

11:28 p.m.: Chase G. Sorenson, 42, of the 5600 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue for running a red light. The driver was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of driving while intoxicated-alcohol-persistent offender, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

9:54 p.m.: Brandon Chase Walker, 33, of the 700 block of Ivy Lane, was arrested after a vehicle was reportedly swerving, traveling slowly on the shoulder and striking a curb east of Marshall Avenue. The driver was intoxicated. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated-drugs and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

April 23

12:56 a.m.: Cesar Quetzecua Chavez, 29, of the 400 block of West 16th Street, was arrested after officers responded to a subject slumped over the wheel of his car at West Main Street and South Grand Avenue. Chavez was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked pending release to a sober person for driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

Incidents

April 17

12:24 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. They spoke with asset protection and gathered information for a report.

12:40 p.m.: Officers responded to a reported fight that happened inside a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. On arrival, they spoke with the reporting party, gathered information and created a report. There were no injuries.

April 19

2:06 p.m.: A vehicle accident occurred in a parking lot in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue. The suspect vehicle fled.

April 22

10:23 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of East 16th Street for a property report. damage report. They arrived on scene, gathered information and documented the event. A report was completed.

12:07 p.m.: Officers responded to the 300 block of East Main Street regarding a possible burglary. They located a door on the back of the property that had been forced open. A suspect and the cost of damage are unknown at this time.

April 23

2:18 a.m.: Officers received a call regarding theft from a vehicle in the 900 block of West 11th Street. The reporting party spoke with officers, who created a report. A suspect has not been identified.

738 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Spring Street for a report of property damage. A report was taken and a suspect was identified.

8:54 a.m.: A subject walked into the Sedalia Police Department to report an assault that occurred in the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue. Information was gathered from the victim and a report was completed.

2:54 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the police department lobby for a subject wanting to report both an assault and forgery in the 2100 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Information and a written statement were gathered from the reporting party.

8:02 p.m.: Officers responded to the 3400 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. The victim said she set her phone down but minutes later it was gone. Video has been requested of the incident and a theft report was completed.

Arrests

April 23

7 p.m.: Lewis A. Treece, 42, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right-half of the roadway, and failure to maintain insurance. He was transported to the Henry County Jail and released.
