This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 26

8:28 p.m.: William M. Chapman, 37, of the 900 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near West 18th Street and South Beacon Avenue for no front plate and failure to signal. The driver had a suspended driver's license. The driver was released with charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to maintain financial responsibility. 

9:46 p.m.: Rita Allene Bennett, 47, of Sunrise Beach, was arrested after a truck stop in the 3600 block of South Limit Avenue for failure to maintain a lane and indicators of impaired driving. It was determined Bennett was intoxicated and she was taken to the police department, Bothwell Regional Health Center and the Pettis County Jail where she was booked for driving while intoxicated and placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold. 

April 27

2:08 a.m.: Alexandra L. Fowler, 24, of the 600 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 800 block of South Limit Avenue for a single-vehicle crash. The vehicle had heavy front-end damage after colliding with a light pole, damaging it as well. Fowler was transported to the hospital, however, reported no injuries. She was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. She was released to the care of the hospital. 

Incidents

April 26

8:12 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a juvenile trespassing on the property and possibly attempting to steal items. The juvenile left the area prior to officers' arrival but they were able to identify the juvenile due to several previous incidents. A juvenile referral was completed and a report was made to the child abuse hotline. 

3:34 p.m.: Officers received a missing person report from the 300 block of West Third Street. The adult subject was last seen April 24 at approximately 3:30 p.m. They were entered as missing. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

10:54 p.m.: Officers responded to the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a commercial business alarm. It was discovered someone had attempted to break into the business by breaking a window. No entry was made, though the suspect caused approximately $1,500 worth of damage to the building during the failed attempt.
