This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 9

10:40 p.m.: Darrick Lamount Green, 50, of the 1600 block of East Ninth Street, had a revoked driver's license and was intoxicated. Green was arrested and transported to the SPD and then to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. 

Aug. 10

12:10 p.m.: Rebecca S. Erfurth, 61, of Smithton, was arrested after an officer initiated an investigative traffic stop in a truck because the registered owner’s license status was revoked. The driver was the owner and a check confirmed her license status was revoked. She was arrested, transported to the SPD, and released with the City ticket for driving with a revoked license. 

1:25 p.m.: Timothy A. Showman, 44, of Otterville, was arrested after officers responded to the 1500 block of Waterloo Road for a report of threats made over the internet. Showman was arrested for making terroristic threats.

3:21 p.m.: Shawn Mark Bartlett, 33, of the 200 block of Scott Joplin Court, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of South Vermont Avenue and West Main Street. Bartlett was found to have a revoked license and was arrested at the scene. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

9:01 p.m.: Nicholaus Michael Surber, 36, of the 2700 block of Clarendon Road, was arrested after a traffic stop for speeding in the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard. He was found to have a revoked license and was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released pending State charges of driving with a revoked license and speeding.

Incidents

Aug. 6

12:01 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 500 block of South Ohio Avenue in reference to an assault. The victim stated the suspect walked into the bar and started hitting him. Video footage confirmed the victim's statement. The suspect had fled the area prior to the officer’s arrival.

Aug. 9

5:22 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1900 block of South Osage Avenue regarding a domestic assault that just occurred. The suspect had left the scene prior to police arrival. Charges have been submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor. 

Aug. 10

11:32 a.m.: An officer responded to the 1600 block of East Seventh Street regarding a theft from a building no longer in progress. The victim reported items being stolen from inside their residence on Aug. 8. 

1:22 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2300 block of West Main Street in reference to a property damage report. The victim said the suspect kicked in his door and left after being confronted. 

5 p.m.: Norma Kay Forsythe, 78, of the 2500 block of Albert Lee Avenue, was issued a summons after an officer responded to the 300 block of East 16th Street for a waste disposal violation of depositing solid waste in a container other than her own.

Arrests

Aug. 10

3:48 p.m.: Stacy N. Soendker, 36, of Marshall, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance-Suboxone and speeding. She was transported to the Saline County Jail and released. 

Aug. 11

12:18 a.m.: Colin B. Epperson, 18, of Lone Jack, was arrested in Johnson County for felony possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated, and speeding. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
