This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Aug. 21

7:31 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1000 block of North Grand Avenue in reference to a theft report. Suspects cut a padlock office storage shed and stole six full gas cans and four trailer tires, and created damage with a total loss of $800.

2:51 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a report of failing to return rental property. A suspect failed to pay for or return rented property and the incident is under investigation.

3:15 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of West Fourth Street in reference to a vehicle theft. The victim stated his Honda Grom was stolen.

Aug. 22

12:31 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business parking lot in the 3700 block of West 10th Street for a hit-and-run accident. The victim's vehicle was parked in the parking lot when it was struck.

9:38 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of North Quincy Avenue in reference to a property damage report. The victim stated someone threw paint and lotion on their truck sometime in the overnight hours.

1 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the lobby of the police department in reference to a theft from a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The victim said she lost her phone in the bathroom and when she went back, it was missing.
