This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Aug. 25
12:28 p.m.: Tamara L. Augustine, 42, of La Monte, was arrested after a reported theft of a bank deposit from a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Augustine was located at her home, taken into custody, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of state charges for felony stealing.
1:31 p.m.: Tanner J. Leary, 21, of the 2400 block of Stacey Lane, was arrested after an officer took a report in the 1100 block of South State Fair Boulevard. The victim reported someone stole several items from his unlocked vehicle including multiple credit cards, debit cards and cash. A suspect was soon developed and on Aug. 25, officers with the Crime Resolution Unit were able to locate the suspect during a vehicle check. Leary was brought to the police department and questioned by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. He later was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Leary was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of felony stealing, felony fraudulent use of a credit card, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Aug. 26
12:41 p.m.: Lawrence Allen Cole II, 43, of Warsaw, was arrested after a traffic stop near East Sixth Street and South Center Avenue. It was determined the driver of the vehicle had a suspended driver's license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released with charges of driving with a suspended license.
8:52 p.m.: David Anthony Macias, 35, of the 2300 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after officers responded to the 1900 block of East of Boonville Road for a vehicle check. Macias was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges for driving while intoxicated - habitual offender and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Aug. 25
1:06 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of North Prospect Avenue for a report of fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim stated someone had stolen her debit card and used it to purchase $34 worth of merchandise from Walmart. The suspect tried to use the card at another establishment, but it was denied. A suspect was named, but at the time of this report, had not been located for questioning.
1:52 p.m.: Officers took a report in the SPD lobby in reference to a reported theft. Several unauthorized transactions had been made totaling $1,940.72. A suspect has not been located at this time.
3:08 p.m.: Officers took a report in the SPD lobby in reference to a theft. Items were reportedly stolen from a residence in a 500 block of West Fifth Street. The value of the items taken was $559. Suspects have not been located at this time.
4:40 p.m.: Officers took a report in reference to a parent reportedly providing a controlled substance to their child sometime around April. The incident was reported to have occurred in the 2600 block of Highland Avenue. A report of the incident was made to the Child Abuse Hotline.
Aug. 26
7:04 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a disturbance. The caller stated the suspect had purposely struck him with a vehicle, injuring his leg. The suspect had left the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
9:08 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. An illegal firearm was brought to the police department to be entered into evidence.
10:15 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2100 block of Broadway Boulevard for a report of a burglary in progress. The victim reported that someone had forced entry into the residence and damaged two doors. The damage was valued at less than $100.
10:29 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of West Third Street in reference to a theft from a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle said someone was in her car from her business and when she approached the car the suspect was gone. The suspect left with over $1,100 worth of items.

Midnight: Deputies took a fraud report at the sheriff's office for an individual who had been defrauded by an investment company.

Aug. 27
2:37 a.m.: Joseph W. Jacobson, 18, of Clinton, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
