This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 23

4:15 p.m.: Jimmy L. Linley, 41, of the 26000 block of Goodwill Chapel Road, was arrested after a traffic stop at East Seventh Street and South Ohio Avenue for a driver known to have a suspended driver's license. Linley was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released with a state charge of driving with a suspended license.

Aug. 24

4:39 p.m.: Christopher S. Hellesvig, 55, was arrested after an officer responded to the 2600 block of Stevenson Avenue for a trespassing report. The suspect had already left the area but was later located in the 1700 block of West 32nd Street and placed under arrest. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of first-degree trespassing.

Aug. 28

1:39 a.m.: Trevor R. Cockerum, 41, of Kearney, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no license plate lights. Kearney had a suspended driving status and was arrested, then released on scene for driving with a suspended license.

7:30 p.m.: Misty Autuun Taber, 41, of the 600 block of West Sixth Street, was arrested after officers were called to the 600 block of South Missouri Avenue for an individual dumping trash in a dumpster that did not belong to them. The complainant found mail within the dumpster with the address of a neighbor who admitted to using the dumpster for their trash. Taber was cited and released on scene for depositing solid waste in a container other than their own.

Aug. 29

1:13 a.m.: LaDonna Fay Neace, 48, of the 4700 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested after a bicycle patrol near South Grand Avenue and Clinton Road noticed subjects walking from the Katy Trail, which was closed at that time, onto South Grand Avenue in an improper manner. Investigation revealed one subject had methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. Neace was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

Incidents

Aug. 28

6:45 a.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of West Seventh Street in reference to a theft report. The reporting party said a window to her vehicle was broken and money was stolen. No suspects have been identified.

9:39 a.m.: Officers responded to the police department lobby in reference to a theft report from a party who said her credit cards were stolen from her vehicle in the 2900 block of West Broadway Boulevard. No suspects have been identified.

3:55 p.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of West Seventh Street in reference to a property damage report. They spoke with the reporting party, who stated sometime during the evening, someone slashed all four tires on their vehicle. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 28

2:36 p.m.: Holly A. Wigington, 34, of Slater, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
