This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 30

12:10 a.m.: Rosalio Gonzalez Diaz, 28, of the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Sixth Street and South Osage Avenue on a vehicle that failed to maintain the right half of the roadway. Gonzales Diaz was intoxicated and was transported to the police department and then the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving while intoxicated.

1:44 p.m.: Crystal Sheresa-Tomasen Burton, 37, of the 1700 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop for not displaying a registration plate. Burton was intoxicated and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and issued a uniform traffic ticket for driving while intoxicated.

Aug. 2

9:27 p.m.: Leonardo Rivas, 30, of Texas, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a traffic stop near South Limit Avenue and West 14th Street for failing to maintain a lane and not displaying a registration plate. Rivas was intoxicated and was transported to the police department, then the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold for resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated.

Incidents

July 29

7:24 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business parking lot in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a hit-and-run. The caller said she had parked her car earlier in the day and returned to find it damaged. No arrests have been made.

Aug. 2

8:51 a.m.: An officer spoke with a female on the phone who stated her license plate was stolen off her trailer from the 1000 block of Royal Boulevard. The license plate was entered as stolen.

9:49 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Osage Avenue regarding a burglary. The complainant stated while they were gone, someone broke into their residence and stole various items. No suspects have been identified.
