This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 15

12:19 a.m.: Jacorey Tremaine Beeks, 23, of the 400 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near West Ninth Street and South Sneed Avenue for speeding. Beeks was intoxicated by drugs and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked pending a state charge of driving while intoxicated-drugs.

Dec. 16

12:33 a.m.: Anthony Lamar Melton, 35, of Pembrook, Illinois, was arrested after a vehicle stop near South Ohio Avenue and East Third Street for not properly displaying registration plates. Melton had a suspended driving status. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to properly display license plates.

Dec. 17

1:13 a.m.: Gonzalo Lucas Medina, 37, of the 400 block of Wilkerson Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop for failing to maintain the right-half of the roadway near Wilkerson Street and South Vermont Avenue. Medina was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.

3:36 a.m.: Billy Bernard Brown, 36, of the 1000 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 1600 block of South Osage Avenue. He was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center, then the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of a third-degree assault.

4:32 a.m.: Lori Lynn Hadley, 51, of the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a report of a fire. This triggered an emergency response from multiple first responders. It was determined there was no fire. This was the fourth time in approximately eight hours Hadley had called 911 to report various things that were determined to be false. She was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for misusing 911.

8:58 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1700 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to trespassing and theft. Management advised that on Dec. 12, a subject, who had been previously trespassed, was on the property and stole a roadside banner. The suspect then left.

9:38 a.m.: Sarita Linda Leon, 61, of the 600 block of Washington Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard to investigate a reported theft. The complainant said the suspect was still on scene and Leon was taken into custody. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges for first-degree burglary and stealing.

1:14 p.m.: Ashley Sarah Marie Jones, 23, the 600 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched for a report of a domestic disturbance. The officer met with the two victims, who stated a woman known to them assaulted them, causing injuries because they wouldn't cook her breakfast burrito. Jones was later located and arrested for second-degree domestic assault and fourth-degree domestic assault.

4:41 p.m.: Joseph Edward Weller, 23, of the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a report of a fire. On arrival, officers located two subjects attempting to leave the residence quickly. They were informed they were not free to go and to not leave the scene. Officers turned to address the potential fire and the subjects left. They were stopped a short distance later and arrested for resisting/interfering with a detention/stop. They were transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

10:44 p.m.: Tristan Dale Fizer, 26, of the 400 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested after officers responded to the 2300 block of West Main Street in reference to an assault. The victim said Fizer punched him in the face and damaged some of his property. Fizer was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of third-degree assault and second-degree property damage.

11:40 p.m.: Dwight Trester II, 61, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to Liberty Park in reference to a suspicious subject screaming. Officers made contact with Trester, who was highly intoxicated and had an open container. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and issued a municipal citation for alcohol possession in a city park and placed on a 24-hour protective custody hold.

Incidents

Dec. 15

7:29 p.m.: Officers conducted a vehicle stop at East Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue. The license plate on the vehicle was reported stolen and was seized. Charges are being submitted against the driver.

Dec. 17

5:16 p.m.: An officer responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center to take an animal bite report. The injured party stated while trying to break up a fight between his own two dogs, he was bit.

Dec. 16

9:33 p.m.: Douglas Lee Johnson was arrested after a traffic stop for failure to register a motor vehicle. A search located syringes with a clear liquid that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Johnson was placed on a 24-hour hold for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to register a motor vehicle annually with the Department of Revenue.

Dec. 15

4:34 p.m.: Kathy A. Burbidge, 56, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Morgan County for failure to drive on the right-half of the roadway and driving while intoxicated-alcohol. She was transported to the Morgan County Jail.

Dec. 16

3:11 a.m.: Adam E. Browne, 34, of Whiteman Air Force Base, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and driving in the wrong direction almost resulting in a crash. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

6:38 p.m.: Corbin L. Whitney, 24, of Marshall, was arrested in Pettis County for first-degree felony assault, third-degree felony assault, first-degree felony kidnapping and felony armed criminal action. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and put placed on a 24-hour hold

Dec. 17

3:04 p.m.: Michael J. Trogdon, 48, of Kansas City, was arrested in Henry County for felony possession of a controlled substance, speeding, and misdemeanor warrants from Clay County and Harrison County. He was transported to the Henry County Jail.

5:59 p.m.: Elton W. Tillotson, 44, of Osceola, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Henry County Jail and released.

7:27 p.m.: Oscar G. Espinoza, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and no insurance. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
