This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 16

10:07 p.m.: Jose Arista Morgado, 32, of Smithton, was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle straddling the lane dividers on East Broadway Boulevard near South Arlington Avenue. Morgado was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of driving while intoxicated-alcohol.

Dec. 20

8:07 p.m.: Austin Lane Chadwick, 26, of the 300 block of East Second Street, was arrested after officers responded in reference to a domestic assault. A female stated she was punched in the face by a man known to her and he had left on foot. Officers found Chadwick and he was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for third-degree domestic assault.

Dec. 20

1:37 p.m.: A victim in the 2400 block of South Quincy Avenue said she had been charged twice on her credit device by a business for services and noticed a charge on her debit card had been made for a Roku activation on a device she does not own. A suspect has been named.

2:28 p.m.: An officer responded to the police department lobby for a theft that occurred on Sept. 6. The victim stated she had items taken out of her home in the 2400 block of South Quincy Avenue by a known suspect. No contact had been made with the suspect at the time of the report.

Arrests

Dec. 20

7:39 p.m.: Lewis Neal, of La Monte, was arrested after deputies were dispatched in reference to a physical disturbance. They located residents trying to restrain an intoxicated individual, and when they attempted to place Neil in handcuffs, he began to fight the deputies, assaulting one of them. He was placed under arrest and investigation showed he had assaulted a juvenile in the residence as well as another adult. He was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit of confinement before being transported to the Pettis County Jail. He was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of third-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault/special victim, felony resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child.
