This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
6:35 p.m.: Santiago Cucul Choc, 29, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near West Broadway Boulevard and South Grand Avenue. Choc didn’t have a driver's license and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, processed, and released with a summons.
9:28 p.m.: Jammy Morgan Newland, 22, of the 3500 block of Grand Avenue, was arrested after a subject check on a vehicle on West Seventh Street near South Kentucky Avenue. The registered owner was known to have a failure to appear warrant from Henry County, and Newland was intoxicated. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail for driving while intoxicated.
12:02 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of fraud in the 1700 block of South Stewart Avenue. The reporting party stated she was scammed into paying an electric check to a person claiming to be an Evergy representative. The payment was stopped.
5:19 p.m.: Victor L. Houston, 47, of Quincy, Illinois, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
