This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 21

10:49 p.m.: Martin A. Garcia Munoz, 30, of the 500 block of East 15th Street, was arrested near the intersection of East 15th Street and South Lafayette Avenue for driving while intoxicated-alcohol. An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. During the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC above 0.08.

Dec. 22

8:17 a.m.: Dwight Albert Trester II, 61, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue for first-degree trespassing. Officers responded to a business for a reported trespassing. The suspect was located and arrested. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.

Dec. 23

2:22 a.m.: Dana Lynne Bark, 52, of the 400 block of East Second Street, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue for driving while intoxicated-drugs. An officer stopped an SUV for indicators of impaired driving and expired plates. The driver was intoxicated by drugs. She was arrested and booked at the Pettis County Jail.

4:45 p.m.: Randy Loren Veeder, 47, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard for first-degree trespassing. Officers were dispatched to a business for a report of a person defecating behind the building. Officers arrived and gathered information and video from the store manager. The suspect later returned to the business and was arrested.

7:03 p.m.: Alexander Nikolayevich Zaytsev, 20, of the 1000 block of Thompson Boulevard, was arrested in the 3300 block of West Broadway Boulevard for driving while intoxicated-alcohol-drugs, resisting arrest, and possession of alcohol by a minor. A car was stopped at a business after an officer observed the driver traveling 73 mph in a 35 mph zone on Main Street, attempting to flee law enforcement and driving carelessly and in an extremely intoxicated condition through the business parking lot. The driver was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold.

11:19 p.m.: Karl L. Buettner, 48, of the 1700 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West 13th Street and South Harrison Avenue for driving with a suspended license and failure to register annually with the Department of Revenue. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested, taken to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

Dec. 24

3:29 a.m.: Felix Aranda Diaz, 53, of Knob Noster, was arrested in the 3500 block of West 16th Street for driving while intoxicated-alcohol, operating a vehicle without a valid license, no proof of insurance, and improper lane usage. Officers stopped a truck near West 16th Street and Stone Creek Drive after the driver was observed driving on the wrong side of the road, disobeying a stop sign, weaving, driving under the speed limit, driving outside the lane, and driving on a sidewalk. The driver was intoxicated and did not have a license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges.

Dec. 25

12:39 a.m.: Tara Lynn Davis, 41, of the 500 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested at her residence for third-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, the victim had minor stab wounds and was treated by the Pettis County Ambulance District. The suspect, Davis, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges.

9:13 p.m.: Adrian Maya Trejo, 40, of the 200 block of South Stewart Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Sixth Street and South Moniteau Avenue for driving while intoxicated-alcohol. An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. During the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC above 0.08.

Dec. 26

10:24 p.m.: Renata Gmyr, 19, and Rylee E. Miles, 18, both of the 1400 block of South Harrison Avenue, were arrested near the intersection of West 32nd Street and Clinton Road. An officer conducted a traffic stop for traffic violations. Dispatch advised the vehicle was stolen out of Pettis County, and the officer detained two subjects pending further investigation. After further investigation, Gmyr was arrested for first-degree tampering with a vehicle and Miles was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Both were transported to the Pettis County Jail for 24-hour holds pending the filing of charges.

Incidents

Dec. 19

12:06 p.m.: Officers took a report in the SPD lobby of an assault that occurred at South Moniteau Avenue and West Main Street.

5:20 p.m.: Officers responded to Saline Street and North Mill Street for a bicycle theft report. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from the victim, attempted to locate the described suspect, and completed a report.

Dec. 22

3:08 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. The victim said they left their phone at a business on Dec. 16 and someone took it.

10:09 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 11th Street for a theft report. The reporting party stated a known suspect stole her cell phone.

Dec. 23

5:52 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2300 block of East 10th Street for potential shots fired in the area. Officers spoke to subjects in the area and a suspect was identified. The suspect fled the scene to an unknown location. Charges are being requested.

Dec. 26

10:06 a.m.: A husband and wife came to the SPD to report they had been scammed out of money.

12:18 p.m.: An officer responded to the SPD lobby for a theft report. The victim stated that a checking account under his control was compromised and several purchases were made through iTunes without his consent. The account has since been frozen and a report was made. There is no suspect information at this time.
