This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 23

9:42 p.m.: Crystal Sheresa Tomason Burton, 36, of the 1100 block of 11th Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a vehicle accident near East Broadway Boulevard and South New York Avenue. Burton had fled the scene of the accident but was found hiding a few blocks away. She had a revoked driving status and was intoxicated. Burton was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and then the Pettis County Jail, pending charges of leaving the scene of a vehicle accident, driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked license.

Nov. 28

11:51 p.m.: Dylan R. Wolfe, 24, of Smithton, was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near West Broadway Boulevard and Ruth Ann Drive for speeding and an improper turn. Wolfe was intoxicated and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and issued a uniform traffic ticket.

Dec. 2

11:19 p.m.: Jarett Wells, 21, of Fulton, was arrested after officers responded to the 200 block of East Sixth Street in reference to an intoxicated subject. Officers conducted an investigation and determined an assault had taken place. Wells was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a protective custody hold for third-degree domestic assault.

Incidents

Nov. 26

2:26 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to 10th Street and Mitchell Avenue for a semi-tractor and trailer that had gone off the easement road into Evergy’s substation, causing damage to the groundwork and grass next to the roadway. Officers gathered information and documented the damages.

Nov. 28

4:18 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a theft. A female subject left the store with two power tools without paying for them.

Dec. 1

10:12 p.m.: Police responded to a business in the 3900 block of West Ninth Street in reference to a well-being check. They located a subject who had taken an unknown amount of prescription medication. Officers administered Narcan and the subject was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for further treatment.

Dec. 2

3:10 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the police department for a caller who reported his friend was suicidal. The subject was located and reported she may have been sexually assaulted the previous evening. She was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center. No arrests have been made at this time.

10:04 p.m.: Officers responded to the Sedalia Police Department lobby in reference to a domestic assault. The reporting party stated she was assaulted by a man known to her and he fled on foot. Formal charges have been submitted to the prosecutor.
