This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 20

3:02 p.m.: William E. Perkins, 36, of Broadview, Illinois, was arrested after officers responded to the 1600 block of South Osage Avenue to investigate a reported assault involving a firearm. Officers spoke with the victim and several witnesses. The suspect was located nearby and taken into custody. Perkins was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment, then the Pettis County Jail pending the filing of charges for second-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

Feb. 22

12:53 a.m.: Matthew Garbarz, 21, of the 1500 block of South Osage Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched in reference to a disturbance. The caller explained he had been involved in a physical altercation with a woman known to him and during the course of the investigation, it was determined he was the primary physical aggressor. Garbarz was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault.

Incidents

Feb. 20

8:55 a.m.: Officers took a report in the police department lobby in reference to a hit-and-run accident in the 700 block of West Sixth street. The complaint witnessed a vehicle strike a utility pole and then leave without reporting the accident. The driver and vehicle have been identified, but no contact has been made at this time.

1:48 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of West 20th Street for a report of property damage. The victim stated over the weekend, someone tossed rocks at seven of the windows of the house, shattering them. Estimated damage was around $1,000.

Feb. 21

11:13 a.m.: An officer spoke with a victim in the 200 block of West 32nd Street on the phone. She received a harassing Instagram message from a male known to her. This incident occurred in another jurisdiction, so the report was completed as an assist agency report.

6:19 p.m.: Officers responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of South Barrett Avenue. A general information report was completed on the incident.

9:03 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of South Carr Avenue in reference to stalking. The caller said she was notified by Apple that she was being followed by an AirTag. The officer was unable to locate the AirTag on the vehicle and attempted to speak with Apple, but they hung up. No arrests have been made at this time.

9:49 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of East Fifth Street to make contact with a subject reported missing out of Kansas. Contact was made with the missing person and a report was completed.

Incidents

Feb. 21

2 p.m.: A couple on Chevalier Road in Pettis County reported fraudulent activity on their financial accounts. The incident involved the loss of approximately $2,000. The loss was reported to have occurred in Florida and is currently under investigation by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office.

Arrests

Feb. 21

12:27 a.m.: Christopher L. Robinson, 40, of Knob Noster, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated - drugs and no tail lamps. He was transported to the Johnson County Sheriff's Department and released.

6:56 a.m.: Keith A. Reeves, 68, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated - persistent offender, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to drive on the right-half of the road resulting in an accident. He was transported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and released.
