This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 22

4:50 p.m.: Timothy Lee Vance, 33, of Salem, was arrested on charges of driving without a valid license, failure to register annually with the Department of Revenue, displaying the license plates of another and failure to maintain financial responsibility. Vance came to the police station claiming people were following him. Officers noticed several vehicle violations, but they took no enforcement action because no one observed him driving the car. They permitted him to leave with another person. About an hour later, officers made contact with Vance at West Second Street and South Osage Avenue, and he was claiming again that unknown people were following him. After investigation, they found Vance might have been experiencing the effects of illegal drug use. They arrested him on several traffic violations.

Jan. 24

7:15 p.m.: Charles Edward Ford, 57, of the 400 block of East 17th Street, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. An officer stopped Ford near East 17th Street and South Washington Avenue for speeding and failure to maintain a single lane. Investigation reportedly revealed he was driving under the influence of illegal drugs. The officer arrested and obtained a search warrant for blood testing.

Jan. 26

1:15 a.m.: Bradley A. Simons, 26, of the 1500 block of Crestview Drive, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped a vehicle with a headlight out and learned the driver, Simons, had a suspended license.

1:50 a.m.: Aaron M. Vincent, 28, of Green Ridge, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Officers arrested Vincent after stopping him for driving erratically on Broadway Boulevard and for having a broken headlight.

2:55 a.m.: Ciera Catherine Pierce, 28, of the 30000 block of Ball Road, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of identity theft. An officer stopped Pierce’s vehicle near West 15th Street and South Grand Avenue. She reportedly gave her sibling’s name because she had an active warrant and an expired driver’s license. The officer took her into custody and served a failure to appear warrant from the Sedalia Municipal Court.

5:25 p.m.: Ramon Alejo-Romero, 38, of the 700 block of East 10th Street, was arrested on misdemeanor identity theft. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of East 10th Street. At the scene, Alejo-Romero gave officers an ID with a different name. They later learned it wasn’t his identity and verified his real name. The officers placed Alejo-Romero on 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

5:40 a.m.: Shaun A. Sims, 18, of the 1600 block of East 15th Street, received a municipal court summons for charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer saw a vehicle operating with malfunctioning headlights and license plate lights. He also noticed the driver was speeding while he tried to catch up to the vehicle. He stopped the car at West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from it. A probable cause search reportedly revealed drug paraphernalia and marijuana residue inside.

8:50 a.m.: Ronald S. Dollar, 30, of the 2400 block of South Ohio Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Officers stopped a car with an expired Virginia license plate. Dispatch reported the driver, Dollar, had a suspended Missouri license.

9:40 p.m. Alfonso D. Kirkwood, 39, of the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped a vehicle with expired registration after seeing it traveling west on West Broadway Boulevard at South Limit Avenue. The driver, Kirkwood, reportedly admitted his license was suspended. A computer check confirmed his suspended license and revealed two failure to appear warrants from the Sedalia Municipal Court and a Pettis County misdemeanor warrant.

Incidents

Jan. 24

7:35 p.m.: Two officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a forgery. They spoke with the manager, who said two teenage boys ordered in the drive-thru lane and tried to pay with a counterfeit $100 bill. Afterward, they said it was a joke and paid with a credit card. The officers hadn’t identified the suspects at the time of the report.

Jan. 25

7 p.m.: An officer took a report in the police station lobby of a vehicle theft. The victim said someone stole her 2001 Ford Expedition sometime within the past two weeks. The incident is under investigation.

Jan. 21

4:10 a.m.: Deputies located a man in the company of a missing juvenile from Benton County during a vehicle check in the 2400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. They arrested the man on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance. They took the juvenile into custody and later released her to her father.

5:35 a.m.: A deputy responded to a location in Smithton in reference to a reported disturbance. During the investigation, he determined an assault had taken place and arrested a male subject on a charge of third-degree domestic assault.

Jan. 25

12:45 p.m.: Keegan R. Webner, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Jan. 26

2:10 a.m.: Ryan L. Hendrickson, 32, of California, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding.

3 p.m.: Michael T. Emerick, 43, of Osceola, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.

Jan. 27

3:30 p.m.: Cheryl A. Estes, 46, of Atchison, Kansas, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding.

Jan. 28

12:10 a.m.: Rigoberto Sapon, 25, of Blythesville, Arkansas, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, and driving without a license.
