This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 13

11:14 a.m.: Gaylon Eugene Marshall Jr., 26, of the 900 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested after deputies with the Crime Resolution Unit conducted a search warrant and found methamphetamine and concealment of methamphetamine on Marshall's person. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for drug possession, tampering with physical evidence, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dec. 29

11:29 p.m.: Carlos E. Aguirre Jr., 25, of the 1100 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to an accident on State Fair Boulevard near West Fifth Street. It was determined the driver was intoxicated and Aguirre was transported to the Pettis County Jail for driving while intoxicated.

Dec. 31

11:13 p.m.: Elizabet Emily Echols, 22, of the 3600 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for not properly displaying a registration plate near South Ohio Avenue and East 13th Street. Echols was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Jan. 1

2:30 a.m.: Jesus J. Sotelo Alvarado, 21, of the 700 block of McVey Drive, was arrested after a traffic stop for not properly displaying a registration plate. It was determined Alvarado was intoxicated and he was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of driving while intoxicated - drugs.

Jan. 3

11:10 p.m.: Steven Wayne Hassler, 49, of the 1500 block of East 12th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for a headlight out in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The suspect said he had a suspended/revoked license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of driving with a suspended license.

Incidents

Dec. 31

9:18 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. They made contact with the reporting party, concluded an investigation, and gathered the information necessary to generate a report.

Jan. 3

8 a.m.: An officer responded to a call of utility theft in the 1800 block of South Missouri Avenue. The reporting party was concerned that their trash was being used without their knowledge or consent. They did not wish to pursue charges if their trash cans were emptied.

Jan. 2

1:55 p.m.: James G. Carlson, 41, of Rocky Mount, was arrested in Morgan County for driving with a suspended license and failure to register a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail.
