This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 21

8:23 p.m.: Chantel Rose Newman, 29, of the 1100 block of South Harding Avenue, was arrested at her residence for driving with a suspended license and two counts of no child restraint. An officer stopped a vehicle for no front plate, speeding and failing to yield to oncoming traffic. A Department of Revenue check showed the driver had a suspended license. She also had a 7-year-old and a 6-year-old in the back seat with no child restraint system. She was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.

10:13 p.m.: Jacob Lee Charles Etter, 26, of the 1000 block of McVey Road, was arrested near the intersection of East Fifth Street and South Massachusetts Avenue for driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped a motorcycle for disobeying the stop sign at East Second Street and South Massachusetts Avenue and failing to signal. A Department of Revenue check showed he had a suspended license. He was arrested and released with a municipal summons.

11:42 p.m.: Mark Anthony Pringle, 44, of the 3800 block of South New York Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Barrett Avenue for driving while intoxicated. An officer stopped a vehicle for swerving outside its lane. The driver was intoxicated and arrested. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail and booked pending release to a sober person.

July 22

1:16 a.m.: Lester Waylon Martin, 35, of the 28000 block of Hopewell Road, was arrested near the intersection of North Ohio Avenue and North Missouri Avenue for driving while intoxicated-alcohol-persistent offender. An officer stopped a truck for speeding, improper lane usage and indicators of impaired driving. The driver was intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked pending release to a sober person.

10:12 a.m.: Dustin Galloway, 40, was arrested in the 2500 block of West 16th Street for receiving stolen property. Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1500 block of Thompson Boulevard for trespassing. A subject was reported to be harassing customers in the parking lot. The subject was located on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, where it was determined he was driving a vehicle with a stolen license plate. He was arrested without incident for receiving stolen property and given trespass notices for the business and the fairgrounds.

8:21 p.m.: Todd Edward Johann, 48, of Blue Springs, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Harding Avenue for driving while intoxicated-drugs and possession of a controlled substance. A traffic stop was conducted on a truck at East Broadway and Highway M for speeding, improper turn and suspicion of DWI. The driver was intoxicated and a pill presumed to be ecstasy was found in the truck. The driver was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for a 24-hour hold.

10:31 p.m.: Dustin Earl Bailey, 36, of Green Ridge, was arrested near the intersection of North Lamine Avenue and East Pacific Street for first-degree trespassing. An officer stopped a subject and arrested him for trespassing on the Union Pacific Railroad east of North Ohio Avenue. He was placed on a 24-hour hold.

July 23

12:35 a.m.: Monica Silva Rubio, 31, of the 200 block of Katy Circle, was arrested in the 1500 block of South Limit Avenue for driving while intoxicated-alcohol-prior offender, two counts of no child restraint, and driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped a truck near West 16th Street and South Limit Avenue for failing to maintain the lane and suspicion of DWI. The driver was intoxicated, had a suspended license, and had a child younger than 1 and a 12-year-old unrestrained. The driver was taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

1:28 a.m.: Francisco Marcos Torres, 31, of the 200 block of Katy Circle, was arrested near the intersection of Clarendon Road and Southwest Boulevard for operating a vehicle without a valid license, driving while intoxicated-alcohol, resisting arrest and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. The K9 unit attempted to stop a vehicle for moving and equipment violations. The vehicle’s driver attempted to evade the officer by failing to stop at a stop sign at Clarendon and Southwest and continued to drive through the Katy Trail subdivision with no lights on. The vehicle eventually stopped in a driveway and the driver was arrested after being found to be intoxicated. Two young children under the age of 17 were inside the vehicle.

Incidents

July 21

1:50 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1200 block of East Third Street for a theft report. On arrival, the officer met with the victim, who reported a laptop and various other DJ equipment was stolen. A suspect had not been located at the time of the report.

5:33 p.m.: An officer responded to the 500 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a burglary that had occurred.

10:04 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a hit-and-run accident. When officers arrived, contact was made with the victim and information was collected for a report. There was no suspect at the time of the report.

July 22

4:44 a.m.: An officer responded to the 700 block of East 16th Street for a property damage report. The victim reported the rear glass had been broken out of two different vehicles belonging to the victims.

9:53 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue for a trespassing report. The complainant reported a former employee, who had been issued a trespass warning a few days prior, was at the business. The suspect was identified and charges will be requested through the prosecutor’s office.

July 23

10:40 p.m.: Officers took a stolen vehicle report from the 2000 block of East Ninth Street. The victim reported a subject living with them left in a work truck belonging to the victim without permission and hadn’t returned despite being told to do so. The suspect is believed to have left the state in the truck.

Arrests

July 22

12:01 a.m.: Lee D. Marshall, 55, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and traveling in the wrong lane of traffic. He was taken to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

1:19 p.m.: Rex A. Stevens, 62, of Boonville, was arrested in Morgan County for failure to drive on the right half of the road and driving while intoxicated. He was taken to the Morgan County Jail.

8:58 p.m.: Lauren L. Runyan, 24, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in a crash. She was taken to the Benton County Jail and released.

10:05 p.m.: Gabeno Sanchez, 37, of Archie, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated and operating without a valid license. He was released with a summons.

July 23

12:41 a.m.: Sean P. Cretel, 50, of Osceola, was arrested in Henry County for felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a firearm, driving while intoxicated-drugs, speeding, and no insurance. He was taken to the Henry County Jail and released.

1:28 a.m.: Curtis L. Hoston, 30, of Monroe, Louisiana, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, speeding, and four misdemeanor warrants. He was taken to the Johnson County Jail.

8:40 p.m.: Angela R. Lawrence, 42, of Clinton, was arrested in Morgan County for failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in a vehicle crash, driving with a revoked license, and driving while intoxicated-felony aggravated offender. She was taken to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

9:20 p.m.: David M. Peterson, 52, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County for felony child endangerment, driving while intoxicated, no driver’s license, underage passenger not wearing a seat belt, and seat belt violation. He was taken to the Johnson County Jail and released.

July 24

11:08 a.m.: Nathan S. McDonald, 46, of Columbia, was arrested in Pettis County for a Pettis County warrant, a Johnson County warrant, felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
