This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 3

1:17 p.m.: Michael Barnett, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested for driving 108 miles per hour on West Broadway Boulevard at Granny's Lane. 

11:32 p.m.: Christopher D. Wright, 23, of Raytown, was arrested after a traffic stop for failure to dim headlights. Wright was found to have a revoked driver's license and an active warrant from the Missouri State Highway Patrol for failure to appear on a driving while intoxicated charge. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Incidents

July 2

7 a.m.: Deputies took a burglary report from the 23000 block of Anderson School Road.

10:35 a.m.: Deputies took a report in the sheriff's office lobby for a possible identity theft that occurred in Knob Noster. There were no leads or suspects. 

1:34 a.m.: The Pettis County Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire in the 1300 block of Boonville Road. The State Fire Marshal was contacted and responded to the scene as well. The structure was not occupied at the time of the fire. The investigation continues.

July 3

2:26 p.m.: Deputies took a report of a dog bite in the 600 block of East 14th Street in Hughesville.

Arrests

July 1

11:30 p.m.: Elijah J. Johnson, 19, of Eldon, was arrested in Morgan County for no insurance, no valid driver's license, and possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana. He was released on summons.

July 2

2:20 p.m.: Lomas P. Johnson, 28, of Columbia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and failure to register a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail. 

5:22 p.m.: Zetta G. Dalton, 59, of Smithton, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, and no insurance. She was released.

July 3

9:23 a.m.: Sadira H. Green, 29, of Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested in Moniteau County for unlawful possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released.

3:34 p.m.: John M. Hardy, 45, of Shawnee, Kansas, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated, possession of 11 to 35 grams of marijuana, and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a motor vehicle crash. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail.

Midnight: Joseph R. Lafernier, 25, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain the right half of the roadway, and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
