This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 9

6:48 a.m.: Jon Alexander Zaremba, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to the 1600 block of West 20th Street for a report of trespassing. Zaremba had stolen items and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for stealing, second-degree trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.

1:53 p.m.: Jimmy Lee Linley, 41, of the 1200 block of South Osage Avenue, was arrested after a victim of assault reported him to the police with visible bruises on her face. Lindley was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of third-degree domestic assault.

June 10

9:26 p.m.: Mark W. Elliott, 50, of the 300 block of North Quincy Avenue, was arrested after police responded to East Saline Street for an impaired driver. They attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled. A short pursuit ended when the driver drove into a yard. Elliot was intoxicated by drugs and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, and two counts of failure to stop at a stop sign.

June 11

9:45 p.m.: Beverly A. McCall, 68, of the 200 block of East Second Street, was arrested after an officer responded for a female unconscious at the wheel of a car. McCall was impaired by drugs and in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Charges of driving while intoxicated-drugs, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia have been requested.

Incidents

June 10

9:29 a.m.: A subject turned in several replica $20 bills that were located near Winchester Drive. They were placed into evidence as found property.

11:34 a.m.: A subject came to the police department about a civil matter involving a vehicle purchased from a business in the 2100 block of South Limit Avenue. The vehicle was sold to another person without a title and a general information report was completed at the request of the business owner.

2:08 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Grand Avenue for a report of property damage. A man reported that at 10:15 a.m., his phone and TV cables were cut by an unknown suspect.

4:33 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 900 block of South New York Avenue. They located a 2006 Chevrolet Impala and a 2001 Ford F150 but were unable to find anyone involved in the crash. The case is under investigation.

8:32 p.m.: A bicycle valued at $500 was stolen in the 2000 block of South Limit Avenue.

June 11

1:02 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of South Grand Avenue for a vehicle fire. It was extinguished by the Sedalia Fire Department but appeared to have been intentionally set and is still under investigation. There was minor damage and no injuries.

8:37 a.m.: A victim from the 1800 block of South Harrison Avenue came to the police department in reference to a theft. He told officers he was the victim of an online scam.

8:47 a.m.: A complainant came to the police department to report a phone scam that occurred at a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. The complainant reported the business had been scammed over the phone for a large sum of money.

2:24 p.m.: An officer responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street for a report of theft. A female subject reported her license plate was stolen from her vehicle.

2:58 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3500 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a private-property hit-and-run accident. A 2013 Jeep Wrangler was struck in the driver's side rear end by a red passenger car.

Arrests

June 9

7:59 p.m.: Clark M. Oglesby, 66, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated and no insurance. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.

10:58 p.m.: Jacob J. Johnson, 35, of Cole Camp, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

June 10

9:03 p.m.: Michael E. Kobe, 53, of Kansas City, was arrested in Henry County for fourth-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He was transported to the Henry County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

10:10 p.m.: Matthew T. Busby, 27, of Kansas City, was arrested in Saline County for a misdemeanor warrant from Johnson County, Kansas, speeding, and no insurance. He was transported to the Saline County Jail.
