This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 2

6:15 p.m.: Patrick Dale Martin, 26, of La Monte, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of South Moniteau Avenue. A complainant claimed they were assaulted by Martin and he was charged with second-degree domestic assault.

Incidents

May 31 

9:47 a.m.: A referral was received from Children’s Division regarding possible child sex abuse that occurred two years ago. The allegations were investigated.

June 1

8:58 a.m.: Cody D. Handing, 29, of the 300 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after officers responded to a physical disturbance. The primary physical aggressor was determined to be Hanning and he was transported to the Pettis County Jail, placed on a 24-hour hold and charged with third-degree assault.

9:15 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 900 block of Market Street in reference to catalytic converters cut from two vehicles parked in the lot. The damage was estimated at $940.

10:30 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a possibly abandoned vehicle. The officer was informed that the vehicle was stolen out of Kansas City and the license plate was stolen out of Raytown. Both agencies were notified. Todd's Towing was called and the owner was notified. There are no suspects at this time.

12:41 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of North Harding Avenue in reference to possible property damage. The caller's vehicle was disabled and they believed it had been tampered with. A report was made of the incident. A suspect has not been located.

June 2

6:19 p.m.: An officer responded to West Seventh Street and South Osage Avenue for a report of property damage. The victim reported that their 1995 suburban was parked in an area lot and three of her tires were slashed. The tires were valued at $150.

Arrests

June 2

9:55 a.m.: Diego D. Carter, 48, of Lincoln, was arrested in Benton County for misdemeanor marijuana possession and speeding. He was transported to the Benton County Jail and released.

5:55 p.m.: Kyle V. Cusick, 30, of Buffalo, was arrested in Benton County for boating while intoxicated and insufficient personal flotation. He was transported to the Benton County Jail and released.
