This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 2

12:44 a.m.: Stormy Joe Drolllinger, 25, of the 300 block of Hancock Avenue, was arrested after being observed speeding on West Main Street. A traffic stop at Main Street and Gentry Avenue revealed the driver had been smoking marijuana in the vehicle and was intoxicated. He was transported to the police department where he refused a breath sample, so a search warrant was obtained. He was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw and then to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. A request for a charge of driving while intoxicated - prior offender has been submitted to the prosecutor.

June 2

6:54 p.m. Javier Luna Castro, 43, of the 1700 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched in reference to a physical domestic disturbance. Officers were given a vehicle description and the vehicle seen leaving the area was subsequently stopped at a nearby gas station. The officer made contact with the suspect and Castro was arrested for second-degree domestic assault.

June 4

1:51 a.m.: William Freaderick Fizer Sr., 39, of the 1600 block of South Vermont Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for a lane violation and excessive window tint at Ninth Street and South Grand Avenue. The driver had a suspended driver’s license and was intoxicated. He was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and then the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released.

10:44 a.m.: Zachary R.C. Norton, 25, of the 800 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after officers responded to a complaint of loud noise and peace disturbance. The suspect reportedly drove in front of a house three times revving his engine loud enough to wake the 4-month-old child of one complainant and disturb the peace of the other complainant more than four times previously. Norton was located and issued a summons.

3:47 p.m.: Lyoniel Jackie Meyers Jr., of the 1300 block of Walker Circle, was arrested after a vehicle stop near the intersection of West Main Street and Harrison Avenue after his driving privileges had been suspended. He was issued a summons.

9:26 p.m.: Alexander Luis Astocaza, 26, of the 3400 block of Brooklyn Avenue, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Grand Avenue and Clinton Road for a defective headlight. The driver was found to have marijuana in his possession and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released with a charge of possession of marijuana.

10:53 p.m.: Drake Lee Stetzenbach, 25, of the 1300 block of Warren Avenue, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a vehicle stop for running a red light at West Ninth Street and South Kentucky Avenue. Stetzenbach was released to a sober driver.

May 28

7:01 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue regarding a theft. A subject was identified and charges are pending.

June 3

9:15 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a home in the 900 block of South Stewart Avenue for a burglary report. An unknown suspect entered an outbuilding on the property and stole tools. There are no suspects at this time.

2:34 p.m.: The district supervisor manager of a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard came to report that approximately $7,500 was taken from deposits by a store manager. The theft occurred between April and May and was noticed after deposits were missed. The district supervisor/manager is requesting charges for the theft. 

2:37 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of South Moniteau Avenue in reference to an animal bite. The officer assisted Animal Control in taking temporary possession of the dog. The victim was seen by the Pettis County ambulance district.

3:32 p.m.: Officers took a report of a burglary at a business in the 1900 block of South Limit Avenue. A suspect kicked in the back door of the business and the cash register was accessed. Approximately $200 in cash was taken.

5:30 p.m.: An individual came to the SPD lobby to report identity theft. He received a letter in the mail from a credit card issuer regretting they cannot issue credit to the individual. The reason stated was the credit bureau reported the applicant was deceased. The individual wanted to report someone using his identity.

5:51 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1600 block of East 14th Street in reference to a firearm discharge. Officers made contact with the owner of the firearm who said it was an accidental discharge. After conducting an investigation, officers found it to be an accidental discharge. No one was injured and a general information report was made.

6:32 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. The caller stated their teenager left their cell phone on the counter of the store and when they went back in to get the phone, it was gone and had not been returned to the front desk. There is no suspect at this time.

10:03 p.m.: Officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a report of a dog bite. When officers arrived, the victim was spoken to and a report was completed.

10:38 a.m. Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a burglary and vehicle theft. A suspect broke into the business and stole several keys or key fobs prior to stealing a vehicle and leaving.

11:57 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 11th Street in reference to an intoxicated subject. The subject had two separate wounds on his head that were actively bleeding and could not tell the officers what happened other than he got into a fight. There are no suspects at this time. The individual was transported to the Bothwell emergency room for treatment of his injuries and was later released.

June 4

11:33 a.m.: A complaint came to the police station to report that a person claiming to be the daughter of the complainant’s father had written checks and made purchases with a debit credit card without the victim’s permission. Evidence of the incident had been collected from a local bank and a report was completed.

Noon: An officer was dispatched to a theft that occurred in the 500 block of East Boonville Street. The complainant said an antique tractor valued at $200 was stolen out of a field.

4:54 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2400 block of West First Street for a property damage report. An unknown suspect keyed in the victim’s vehicle.

June 5

3:18 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue in reference to a theft report. The victim said her online checking count was charged $98 via Walmart.com.

8:15 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The victim said when he returned from shopping he discovered his vehicle had been hit. No suspects have been located.

8:44 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2000 block of South Warren Avenue in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim stated she left her vehicle unlocked and the windows down and various items were stolen. No suspects have been identified at this time.

9:09 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2800 block of East 12th Street for the report of an alarm. When they arrived, a broken window was located. A report has been completed.

June 6

3:02 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 300 block of East Sixth Street in reference to an alarm. The police were checking that all doors were secure when the owner arrived and damage was discovered to one of the doors. The estimated damaged door and frame is $17,500. No arrests have been made.

5:26 p.m.: A victim in the 300 block of East Sixth Street contacted dispatch to report her license plates had been stolen from her vehicle in the 300 block of East Sixth Street. Officers tried to reach out to the victim to verify the sequence of the license plates but phone calls went unanswered. The plates cannot be entered into the system as stolen until the victim provides more information.

June 4

10:55 p.m.: Amy Naylor was arrested after Pettis County deputies and the K9 unit responded to a verbal disturbance outside a business in the 300 block of South Lamine Avenue in Sedalia. Naylor was arrested for first-degree trespassing and possession of marijuana and was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

May 31

5:14 p.m.: Deputies took a report of harassment that occurred in the 34000 block of Highway 127 in Windsor.

Arrests

June 4

7:31 a.m.: Ladarius L. Stevenson, 27, of St. Joseph, was arrested in Saline County for first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a crash, a felony Buchanan County warrant, possession of up to 10 grams of marijuana, no valid license, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, and two misdemeanor Buchanan County warrants. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. 

12:33 a.m.: Sheila M. Holden, 37, of Kingsville, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while 

intoxicated and resisting arrest. She was transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold. 

10:31 p.m.: Thomas L. Wedge, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released. 

10:36 p.m.: Melody A. Mitchell, 35, of Knob Noster, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released. 

June 5

10 a.m.: Derek D. Stach, 27, of Knob Noster, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

2:29 a.m.: Marita A. Grant, 31, of Centerview, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and failure to drive in the right half of the roadway. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
