This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 7

7:45 a.m.: Hakeem S. Dickson, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to the 900 block of West Fifth Street for a theft report. The victim stated a male identified as Dickson knocked on her door, asked to use her phone and left with the phone. He was later located and arrested for stealing, transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Incidents

June 6

9:12 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft that occurred the previous evening. A subject stole $8.98 in items from the store. The suspect has not been identified. 

11:24 p.m.: A victim reported a person known to him stole his cellphone valued at $200.

3:04 p.m.:  An officer was dispatched to the Sedalia Heights apartments, 900 Westwood Drive, for a report of property damage. The manager stated some local children were damaging an apartment. Vinyl lattice on the patio was damaged at around $300. Photos were taken of the damage. 

4:01 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1600 block of East 14th Street in reference to a possible burglary. The homeowner returned to find approximately $2,690 in items missing from the residence and one of the doors unlocked. A report was made of the incident. No suspects have been identified. 

June 7

11 a.m.: Officers took a report in the lobby of the police department in reference to a stolen license plate. The plate has not been recovered and no subjects have been identified. 

6:33 p.m.: Officers responded to the 200 block of South Moniteau Avenue for a dog bite that occurred on June 6. The victim reported a brown pitbull bit his knee before leaving the area. It was unknown where the dog came from or where it went. 

8:58 p.m.: Officers took a report of a possible burglary that occurred at a business in the 800 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Someone forced their way into the building and stole $500, causing approximately $200 worth of damage in the process. A suspect has not been identified at this time.

Incidents

June 7

9:20 p.m.: Deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of West 36th Street in Pettis County for a report of two subjects yelling and screaming at each other. Contact was made with a male subject inside the residence who is taken into custody. The male subject was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to a local hospital for care.
